We had the good fortune of connecting with Lovie Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lovie, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
The one thing about the entertainment industry that outsiders are probably unaware of is the amount of preparation and work it takes to put together AND actually film a project.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an Indie Filmmaker that comes from a sports background.

I’m really excited about my Western pilot that will premiere in February 2024 about Black Cowboys.

It takes passion, dedication, and discipline to further along in anything that you do. My drive came from playing college/pro-basketball (overseas) which is no easy feat when basketball becomes an actual job so the effort and mindset is different when you get to the college/pro level.

My Faith is instrumental in my positive growth as a person which in turn trickles down to me the artist.

I would love for people to see a talented Filmmaker that was blessed from GoD above not just in my films but also as a person.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m mostly a homebody but…when I do decide to get out it’s either to my first favorite place which is my church, then the gym, next is the beach in Malibu, and at my second favorite place…the D6 Ranch to ride some horses.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a few people that mean the world to me and are a positive influence on my journey…
