Meet Jesus Lloveras | Actor & Filmmaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesus Lloveras and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesus, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?

I think that’s what I was meant to do. I had always liked being on stage or actively participate in music repertoires and theatre when I was a kid. I was always the one who wanted to play the lead character or sing the solo, not because I wasn’t shy, but because I enjoyed it so much. When thinking about a future, I thought I would be an engineer and that’s why I focused in more technical studies as I grew up.
At the age of 18 I wasn’t sure if an engineer is what I wanted to become (and do the rest of my life, so I went to Australia for a year to improve my level of english and also to think about my future while.

It was in Sydney where everything changed. I got accepted to one of the best acting schools in the country (NIDA of Australia) and, after that experience, I realized that was my path.

I pursue an artistic career because that was what made me happy, that’s who I was: a storyteller.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There have always been many challenges and it’s never easy but I always try to focus in enjoying the trip and not only focus on the results.

As an actor/filmmaker I have always wanted to make it easy for anyone to hire me. That’s why planning (at very early stages) to work internationally I soon started studying other languages. Today I speak Spanish, Catalan, English, French and Italian. It hasn’t been easy but it is very rewarding.

I love to travel and get to know other people and cultures. It is very enriching and at the same time very useful to understand better the human condition and widen your horizons to tell a story.

I am a risk taker and I apply that to all aspects of life. There’s no guarantee for anything, but if you believe in something it’s necessary to take risks. “No risk, no glory” and “If you believe, anything is possible”. You have to support that with hard work and discipline and that’s what I always try to do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a pretty healthy and outdoorsy guy, so I would definitely take them to surf in malibu or further north. A short trip to Santa Barbara. Definitely enjoying the californian pacific coast.

We would go for some hikes and maybe also a little short trip to the desert. I love the hidden gem of Borrego Springs.

We would definitely visit some sites like Venice beach and canals, hollywood sign and boulevard, the Griffith Observatory, Arts District… The list is long! hahaha…

LA has a very wide variety of food options and I love it. I know it’s not a fancy place but everyone has to try In&Out the first time in Cali… I would probably improvise the food/drink options a little…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely love to thank the support of my family for understanding who I am and giving me wings to follow my dreams. Their love and trust is my biggest motor.

Also, to so many of my acting teachers who share humbly and their knowledge, respect and love for the craft making me want to be a better artist.

And lastly to so many other artists and friends for encouraging me with their inspiring work or their support.
