Meet Jehan Assria | Owner of Jehan Productions

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jehan Assria and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jehan, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
When starting out in the music industry, it was very difficult to navigate my way through. I wish I had someone to guide me, and lay out the process. After 10 years of releasing music, producing music videos, along with the amazing connections I’ve made , I decided to open my own company, Jehan Productions. My goal is to be that guidance to others and more importantly, I love being creative!
I now have an amazing team who’s willing to embark on this journey with me. Director, Erik Bergamini whose worked on my big projects such as Dark Shadow, Machine, and Set a Fire will help with the music videos, and commercial photography/videography. For song production, I would definitely refer my clients to OC Hit. Owner, Thomas Barsoe has built a music powerhouse and I’m very appreciative of him being willing to work with me. My mentor, Lars Halvor Jensen has been by my side since day one, and took me under his wing. His guidance has truly helped me develop the skills needed to turn this company into an empire.
When working at Margarita’s Cocina Y Cantina, my boss needed a website along with content creation, and social media management. Even though I’ve never done those services for anyone else, I stepped up to the plate. Owner Yesenia De La Mora was pleased with the results and decided to hire me on a monthly basis. That’s when I realized I could apply my creativeness from the music industry to help other businesses in need.
With that, my services include; project management, song/music video production, social media management, website design, & commercial photography/videography.

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Jehan Productions elevates creative ideas for any industry whether it’s music or consumer goods. My passion for songwriting and storytelling started at a very young age, and I devoted many years to mastering the craft of sharing it through music and videos.
My goal is to bring together creative community’s with my projects, and give the audience an experience. I’m proud that my previous releases “Set a Fire”, “Machine”, and “Dark Shadow” have been acknowledged by songwriting competitions/film festivals including the International Songwriting Competition, the Big Apple Film Festival, and won “Best Music Video” in the Top Shorts Film/Music Festival, along with “Best Pop Song in America – Machine” in the Intercontinental Music Awards.
This journey has been such a rollercoaster since I’ve faced a lot of rejection, self-doubt, and always felt overlooked and unappreciated. I went through many depressions because I would compare myself to others. I remember when I graduated college, it seemed like everyone else had their life together. I was at a crossroads with my life, and had to make a decision to continue pursuing music or get a corporate job like everyone else. I decided to stick with my passion, even though it meant to stay working at a restaurant I wasn’t happy at. I look back and know I made the right decision.
When I lost my dad, it hit me hard. He was the one who always held the family together. I honor him through my projects and even made my brand/logo design based on the necklace he bought me when I was nine years old.
Through all of this, I learned consistency is key. As long as you’re willing to do the hard work, it will pay off in the end. Being open to feedback and having the willingness to learn also plays a crucial role. The biggest lesson I learned is to hold on to the connections you make and don’t burn bridges. Because of the amazing friendships/connections I’ve made throughout this journey, I know have such a strong team behind Jehan Productions.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My late father, Rabah Ahmad Assria. He has showed me the true meaning of being an entrepreneur. I was always inspired by how he overcame all obstacles that came his way He also bought me the necklace that my logo is based on.
My family and friends. They have been very supportive and remind me to never forget why I started this journey in the first place. I do what I do for them. They are my motivation, especially my mom. I want to make sure they are taken care of.
