Meet Kirsten Stallone | Personal trainer / Strength & Conditioning Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kirsten Stallone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kirsten, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In the fitness industry I started to see that corporations or working under someone, I had to do things “their way”. I did not feel right selling a product that my mind and heart were not fully behind. As I grew my client base and started to get my feet dirty I knew it was time to break apart. I knew I had the base to survive and begin to put the building blocks down for my own business. I knew that my business, my training program, was something I was truly passionate about and with that passion could grow.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a personal trainer, one of thousands in LA. I grew up playing sports my whole life, and knew my passion was in fitness. After breaking my leg in a college soccer game I absolutely fell in love with process of getting stronger again. Through that process I had ups and downs mentally, and physically. This taught me how fitness just is not black and white, but an experience that can help change a life. I started out doing group classes, to owning my own gym, to moving to LA and starting my own client base and business. In a new city nothing is easy, but the difference is, anyone who comes into my life I fully take in. My training is beyond the physical aspect. I want my clients hour to help them learn, succeed, and know that they can rely and depend on me. There are always ups and downs. Learning how to communicate to all different types of people, understanding how to motivate them, and really learn how to properly push them. One thing I have learned is if you truly listen and respond to people you can work together to accomplish anything. I have a big heart and sometimes this industry can be challenging. One thing I have learned is I am not in competition with anyone, I am here to help whomever may need it. I have the tools for anyone to reach their fitness goals, but also the heart to help with problems along the way. I do not consider my career a clock in and clock out type of day. It is my passion and truly a big part of my happiness. I want to see people happy and healthy and I will do my best to help in whatever way I can.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Visiting LA it is hard to narrow down what to do or where to go. I do know that my favorite part of living here is the beaches and the mountains! I would take them an hour out of LA to mount high to snowboard, and warm them up by taking them to my favorite beach Hermosa! Always go for the scenic hike at Runyon, followed by the best fruit served on the side of any street. I love a good brewery, so I would head to Glendale to have them taste Paperback brewery. Now food wise, I love a bagel sandwich from Sam’s on Sunset for the morning. By lunch grab some tacos from any spot but the best is Brothers Cousins Tacos. Dinner with a view? Yamashiro to overlook the city with some amazing sushi. My favorite bar, hi tops. The best vibes, employees, and late night food. LA if you are outside you are smiling, because that sun is like no where else.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My clients and family are truly the ones I want to give my credit and recognition to. My clients have trusted me through their own fitness journey. When opening up about starting a my own business, without hesitation each person said “we are behind you”. When an array of different types of people, from different backgrounds truly believe your idea and push you towards it, there is no stepping back. When those steps got scary my family were the ones to also keep pushing me forward. My fitness journey started with my mom. We would do 6am classes every morning together. She saw my love for fitness and always pushed me to trust my gut and go for it. My sisters and my brother, my mini cheer squad. They not only cheer for me every step of the way, but they are truly my motivation to push and succeed. I want them to go after everything they want in life and if I don’t do that what example would I be? When I have fears they build my confidence. When I have doubts, they make me believe.
