Meet Matty Cardarople | Working Actor and Filmmaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Matty Cardarople and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Matty, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I knew from the beginning after graduating high school that I wasn’t wired to work a 9-5 job or sit behind a desk. And that I had to figure out to make that happen. I knew that acting and filmmaking was what got me up in the morning. And also I had a medical scare with my heart and I knew that I had to go for my dream of being an actor because bringing people a smile and a laugh is my mission and passion in life. Especially, those that struggle.
Through years of support from my parents, working odd jobs, years and years of not giving up. Audition after audition. I started booking and making a name for myself. And I can happily say that I’m a steady working actor and growing my business by pursuing to make my own projects. Like my line in Jurassic World “I’m enjoying the ride…..”
A big thank you for all the people that helped me get here.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from others is my unique look and my deadpan humor. It’s a pocket of the biz that seems to work well for me and it;s something I’m known for. I’m most proud of my tenacity and never giving up, as well as always giving it my all when I get an audition or a role. Also, staying the path of making people that struggle in life that I can cheer them up with my comedy. It’s the best when I run into a fan and they tell me my worked helped them. There smiles is what it’s all about for me.
I got where I am today with my teams hustle, my persistence, my accountability, my grit, the support of friends and family, and most importantly with making sure I had fun and did my best with every audition and role that comes my way.
It wasn’t easy to get where I am today. I’ve had my health challenges with my heart that really took the wind of of my sails many times. But I feel like I’m in a really good place now and doing great, health wise. It was a struggle I’m not going to lie. There are days where I wanted to quit. but I’m reminded myself the why of why I want to act. And that’s to bring people that struggle joy and some peace.
I’ve learned to keep moving fw, stay the course no matter what, remind yourself of the why, surrond yourself with supportive likeminded artists, having fun is so important, be humble, work hard, and most importantly be grateful.
I want the world to know that you can accomplish anything if you put your heart and mind to it. I want them to know that you can really hit bottom but you can still find the strength to get back up with fierce determination to accomplish your dream. And yes you. If you’re reading this. I believe in you. Dream big. You got this.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is fun. I would take them to the best pancakes that melt in your mouth in LA. Salts Cure on Highland. Then I would take them to the beach for a treasure hunt with metal detectors one of my favorite hobbies. Then all grab lunch at Cafe Habbana in Malibu for some grilled corn on the cob and tacos. Then Id take them on another favorite hobby, paranormal investigating with ghost equipment at a haunted house or look for UFOS off the coast.
Then I’d cap it off with ice cream from Salt and Straw. Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip cookie dough is my favorite.
Some other favorite spots is riding the train at descansco gardens in alta dena, LACMA, and fern dell hiking trail in griffith park. Grab a snake dog at Trails Cafe.
