Meet Meg Nunes | Yoga Instructor, Usuii Reiki Master Energy worker, & wellness influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Meg Nunes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Meg, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Taking care of myself in all its forms — mind, body, soul. I’ve learned the hard way that the more I give from a place of lack, the less I actually have to give. So taking care of myself in the morning with a guided meditation, vitamins & nutrients, a chuggable iced coffee & a long walk outside can do wonders for me & allows me to really be able to show up for my clients & my work on such a greater level and higher vibration of energy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is a variety of limbs & I love that I truly get to branch out in different directions every day! It makes my work that much more exciting. I teach (hot) power vinyasa yoga consistently at a local studio every week and some weeks I also teach to private groups & clients or host specialized yoga workshops & events. Alongside my teaching, I also have an energy healing business where I work with clients 1:1 for energy work (reiki) and I share intuitive energy and angel card readings, life coaching conversations, with them as well. Being an entrepreneur myself, I’m able to help my husband who also owns his own business, and I share and document my life online — collaborating with brands I love, mostly gluten & dairy free foods, cannabis, fun outfits, life advice, yoga & my love for coffee. I’m truly in the business of tremendous authenticity, I never want to be someone who just sells something. I come into all of my work from a place of love & sharing that love with others. It was not easy to arrive here but it’s a dream job in many forms. Taking the leap & building a business and brand for yourself takes tremendous effort, energy, trust & passion. I had always had this vision for myself but I never knew how I would arrive here, & having had many other full time jobs over the last decade I was able to learn so many transferable skills that have made me the business owner & energy worker that I am today — so I’m grateful for it all! Every challenge, every set back, and even every continued step forward has led me here with my clients who feel like friends. The one thing I want to tell others is that if you have a vision & dream for yourself, you need to know it’s possible & that you really can do anything your heart desires! When you work hard & you’re not afraid to work hard, you will always be successful in what you do. The more YOU that you are in your business, the more you will generate those authentic & supportive client relationships for life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start our day with morning AG1 (best daily vitamin drink ever) & a meditation. We’d chug some water & head to hot yoga for a warm & energizing flow, followed by visiting my favorite local Dunkin’ Donuts for post yoga iced coffees & enjoy a long walk in the woods with the sunshine! Later, we’d indulge in one of my favorite gluten & dairy free restaurants for some pizza — good food, nourishment of mind & body, movement with a friend, all make for a great time! For me, it’s almost as if the act of less is truly more. I don’t need to travel far to have all that I need & more. The simple things & sharing them with others, are some of my greatest pleasures in this life.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My friend & yoga mentor Danielle Hupe — this goes back to 2014 when I was ridden with grief & anxiety. I found myself stepping into a yoga studio for relief and it was Danielle, the studio owner at the time, that invited me to explore the idea of joining their upcoming teacher training. Her ability to see something in me, that I hadn’t quite yet seen in myself — led me to a career I had once only dreamed of. I’ve been teaching yoga for 10 years now & it all started from that empowering conversation. I am forever thankful for that moment & her guidance in taking me under her wing!
