We had the good fortune of connecting with Vito San Filippo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vito, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur, a business owner and to be able to work for myself. When I first started my Real Estate journey as a Real Estate Agent in 2016, I knew that I would be able to create that opportunity as long as I worked hard and put in the time & effort.
What should our readers know about your business?
I started in Real Estate in 2016 and it was far from easy to break into. There is so much competition with agents that it is hard to start a name for yourself. I started out meeting potential clients at open houses and ended up selling my first house from a buyer that liked the house, loved me and wanted to work with me. After that one deal it was a domino effect as that really put my name on the map. What sets me apart from a lot of agents is that I work with all types of clients, from first time home buyers to luxury high-end listings along with investors and everything in-between. My biggest sale to date was a $7,300,000 home in the hills and that was a very proud moment. Now I am trying to beat that. It has not been an easy road. With real estate, there are endless moving parts in order for one deal to come together and there are times when you think you have a deal done and it ends up falling through. The best way to get past it is to keep moving forward as there will always be that next deal even if you don’t think there will be.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Sugarfish is my favorite sushi spot. When out of towners want sushi that is my go to. We live in Sunny Los Angeles so we are definitely doing the beach in the summer and hiking. Just being outdoors and in nature.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Andrew Manning was my mentor when I first got into the Real Estate business. He has been a top producer in the San Fernando Valley for 25+ years and plays a big roll in my success. He was a mentor that became a business partner and we have done several real estate transactions within the last few years.
