We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Schultz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nick, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Watching films as a child profoundly impacted me, stirring something deep within my soul. Watching remarkable performances and captivating stories ignited a burning desire within me to pursue acting. Movies have a unique power to move me, serving as reminders of the meaning of life. There’s nothing like watching a film and then reflecting on its message afterward. For me, acting isn’t just a want—it’s a need. I feel a compelling urge to become a storyteller, pouring my heart and soul into this craft. Art, to me, is a reflection of life itself, and acting allows me to immerse myself in something filled with profound meaning. So, why not dedicate the rest of my life to something I love so deeply?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At 23, I’m an actor residing in Los Angeles, having pursued my passion since a young age despite numerous trials and tribulations. My journey began at the age of 10, diving into acting training and theater performances, laying the groundwork for what was to come.

I’m particularly proud of the strides I’ve made in my career in recent years. Securing my first leading role in the feature film “What’s My Name Again?” was a significant milestone. This experience provided invaluable exposure to professional sets, allowing me to apply the years of dedication and study. The film premiered last year on platforms like Amazon Prime and Apple TV marking a pivotal moment in my journey, reinforcing my commitment to acting and storytelling.

More recently, a short film I was apart of last year, “Uncapped” earned the esteemed title of “Best Film” at the 48 Hour Film Festival in the comedy/horror category. As this year unfolds, I find myself consistently on set, breathing life into my dreams with each new film opportunity.

Yet, despite these achievements, I acknowledge there’s still much ground to cover in my career and life. Consistency has been a key lesson learned along the way. Keeping the energy flowing toward my goals, no matter the challenges, is a mantra I remind myself of daily.

My defining trait is my steadfast dedication to using my art to make a positive difference. I envision reflecting on my life with a sense of pride, knowing I’ve made a meaningful impact. Despite my youth, I hold myself to high standards, striving not only for adequacy but for excellence.

When I see “Nick Schultz” listed on the call sheet, it symbolizes a commitment to giving my absolute best. Whether it’s a small independent project or a major production, I pledge to pour my heart and soul into every endeavor. I don’t simply aim to act; I aspire to collaborate closely, ensuring that together, we craft something truly remarkable.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start with breakfast at Olive and Time in Toluca Lake. This place has some of the best coffee and food I have had have in Los Angeles for brunch. I also think Aroma in Studio City is a great brunch spot! One of my favorites spots in the Universal City Overlook. I love to go there at sunset and feel the calm of this crazy chaotic city.
A couple great bars that I love are Mama Shelter, Fun Times at Davey Waynes, and the Bunglalow.
For dinner my favorite place would be Elefante in Santa Monica and Teru sushi in Studio City.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents have been my anchor throughout my journey in the arts. They’ve known about my passion for acting since I was little, and they’ve always been there for me. Starting out in this industry without any connections was tough, but their unwavering support kept me going. Their love and encouragement have been like a guiding light, illuminating my path and giving me the strength to persevere through challenges. Without them, I honestly don’t know how I would have kept moving forward. They’ve inspired me to chase my dreams and pursue what brings me joy, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful. My parents are my biggest champions, and I owe them everything for pushing me to be the best version of myself.
