We had the good fortune of connecting with Nonnahs Driskill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nonnahs, what is the most important factor behind your success?

Our amazing team of professional organizers is the foundation of the company’s success.

Many of them have been working with Get Organized Already for over nine years! We have a good-friend type of bond and work really well together. That feeling definitely comes through in our work at each clients’ home.

Our team consists of women who are passionate about helping people. Lots of professionals excel at organizing things, but I’m looking for organizers who are also wonderful human beings, optimistic and caring. I think that’s important for this kind of deeply personal work on intimate areas of the clients’ lives.

Teamwork brings extra value to our clients. The head organizer is allowed time has the freedom to give the client 100% of their attention while another organizer continues working on the project.

I started this business by myself in 2010, but quickly realized it was much more fun for everyone if other organizers were involved to help me make decisions and generally improve the company’s culture and reputation.. I wouldn’t stay in business if it weren’t for these women helping me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Get Organized Already! inc opened its doors in January, 2010. After working with clients on my own, I found there were about 337 organizers in Los Angeles who could organize just as well (or better) than I could.

This is when the team approach took hold. I started having other organizers help on each job and then, in 2012, started growing the Get Organized Already team to its current size (five part-time organizers).

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Vroman’s Bookstore is my favorite indoor space in Pasadena. Hiking to the Griffith Observatory is my favorite outdoor space inland.
But hearing a concert at the outdoor Greek Theater is also pretty incredible.

I love going to Broadway musicals at the Ahmanson theater or the Pantages. If you want to really splurge and you love classical music, get some tickets to the LA Opera at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion or to hear the LA Phil at the Disney Concert Hall. You will feel like a millionaire for the night.

It would be a travesty not to sample the many taco stands, trucks, windows and restaurants in Highland Park. I can’t pick a favorite.

Downtown LA has amazing, regional cuisines from around the world. Again, it’s impossible to pick a favorite! There’s something for every budget and you can only find this kind of variety in a select few cities around the world. If you are into food, you will love Los Angeles!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

Anahid Yahijian was an Occidental College student when I started my business in 2010. She designed my original website, was an admin assistant for a while and also our graphic designer and video editor. She designed the logo for Get Organized Already while she was in college. What a superhero of a woman, Anahid.

Kim Craig came to my rescue when I broke a bone in my right hand in 2012. She came with me on every job I did until my hand healed and from this experience together I realized I wanted to adopt a team-based approach to my business. Kim continued to help me in myriad ways, even after she moved away. She was my partner in growing Get Organized Already to becoming the team it is today. I’m eternally grateful.

Geralin Thomas was my business coach in the early years of this journey. I didn’t go to business school, so she set me straight on how to continue doing what I loved while making a profit. She believed in me and trusted me to work with her on television even! She is still coaching, and I recommend you call her if you’re interested in professional organizing.

My organizing peers, Julie Naylon, Fay Wold, and Beth Penn have been supportive and wonderful to me for many years now, even though when I started this business, they were already well-established. I still look to them for advice. Thanks, ladies.
