We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabellle Hallais and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isabellle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
By starting Second Edition we wanted to revolutionize the Fashion Industry by promoting Sustainability and reducing Waste. We wanted to show the local Westchester ladies that you can be stylish wearing Second hand. We both came from Corporate careers and Retail and wanted a more balanced life. In 2020 we combined our diverse background and founded Second Edition. Isabelle has 20 Years experience in luxury and trendy retail brands like DIor, The Webster , Gucci and Sezane and Christine has a financial and project Management background.
we originally wanted to organize frequent Pop Up in Westchester but we now sell online all over the US and have a permanent store in the town of Scarsdale.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Second Edition is different from other consignment stores as we have a wide offer of brands and each item is curated by a team of French Fashion lovers. The store and the website are merchandised like a luxury Boutique and clients are always amazed by the displays. We are very proud that we started by doing Pop Ups and storing the stock in our houses to having a Successful Boutique in Scarsdale and growing our clientele every day . The best reward for us is when clients come to the store following a recommendation.
We developed a strong community on social media and in person , by being very present. We are very happy to contribute to a better way of buying clothes and to keep items to end up in Landfills. We aim to change the way people think about Fashion and encourage them to adopt a more sustainable approach to consumption.
We believe that clothing doesn’t have to be disposable but should be re-loved and accessible. We aim to accomplish this by connecting consignors with fashion-froward individuals looking for pre-loved treasures , extending the life of beautiful pieces and keeping them out of landfills.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
