We had the good fortune of connecting with Craig Broomba and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Craig, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
In all honesty, it’s the only thing I instinctively know how to do well. Anything else is merely a skill learned to complete a job. Making music isn’t about “chasing a dream” for me, it’s about fulfilling a purpose. No matter how difficult things get from time to time, the universe continues to twist my head back to this singular direction. In other words, I’m cursed and strapped to the rocket.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
This is a 3 person rock band that handles every aspect of the career. Writing, recording, booking, social media, PR, rehearsing, producing, editing photos, storyboarding videos, hosting podcast interviews and then some. A modern artist needs to be able to handle a plethora of tasks and execute them as best they can. Otherwise, it’s an industry made for draining trust funds and turning nepo-babies into one-hit wonders. Our view is the more we can handle ourselves the less we have to rely on anybody else.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1- Bolsa Chica Beach, brewery hopping and fish tacos for dinner

Day 2- Huntington Library, Pasadena

Day 3- DTLA / Hollywood walk of fame for sightseeing, LACMA and sushi before hitting the Sunset Strip for cocktails and a rocknroll show

Day 4- Venice Beach, then Santa Monica Pier/ Promenade for shopping and eats

Day 5- Mexican Food and Crypto arena for a Lakers game

Day 6- Disney and packing house, Anaheim

Day 7- Malibu Beach

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without my bandmates, Filmspeed doesn’t exist. Oliver Dobrian (Drums) and Nick Stout (Bass) are the essential ingredients that make the project happen. From chipping away at voice memo demo recordings, to unloading all the gear from the vehicles in the dead of night, it’s a pact built on blood, sweat and plenty of tears.
