We had the good fortune of connecting with Clara Bach and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Clara, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Finding a balance between my job and personal life has been difficult for me initially. Indeed, I spend most of my time working from home, therefore at some point, I will start to suffocate a little bit. Going to a café occasionally to sit down and work has proven to be a successful option for me. I found myself feeling a lot more connected and effective with my work. I also use this time to listen to podcasts on many themes (historical, personal, or social issues) or sometimes discuss with my neighbors. After all, networking is key, isn’t it? It’s all up to you; you simply need to find the right balance between taking care of yourself and accomplishing your work effectively.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I had the privilege of studying at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, where I earned a BFA in Acting for Film. I learned a lot and met some wonderful teachers. Acting is not something that can be acquired; it must be practiced, which is why I am still actively involved in many projects. Of course, it is not always easy since the job is not simple, and I, like everyone else, have doubts from time to time, but it is necessary to do what we love, and I have no doubts about that. I have a lot to achieve, and only my effort and time will show whether my choices were correct. Meanwhile, I’m excited to participate in new stories!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think Los Angeles is a fantastic city with a variety of locations. This town is still associated with movies, and failing to visit the Hollywood sign would be a huge mistake. It is particularly pretty from the Griffith Observatory. At the same location, I recommend seeing the Observatorium show, which impacted me deeply. The nighttime view there is spectacular. I live in the fairly calm area of Burbank, where you can visit Warner Bros Studios or spend a fantastic day at Universal Studios, but nothing beats a little visit to Priscilla’s café. Otherwise, I adored the Getty Museum, particularly the section with Versailles furniture and European art treasures that reminded me of my homeland, France. It is the perfect destination for everyone who likes museums and culture!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This may sound like a “Thank you” speech for the Academy Award, but loved ones are very crucial to my well-being and balance. It is not always simple; most of the people I love live far away, separated by an ocean; but, Love knows no boundaries since I feel their presence in my everyday life. My few friends in Los Angeles will recognize one another; their friendship means a lot to me and I will be forever grateful for their infinite kindness. On the other side, some now-deceased public figures motivate me to develop and experiment with new ideas in my art. While I am highly conscious of emotions in my work as an actor, my emotions can be difficult to control at times. I’ve been, therefore, interested in how to express my emotions through art (other than my profession), and while I don’t consider myself legitimate in painting, I’ve discovered in poetry a genuine means to comprehend my feelings, almost like self-psychoanalysis. I recommend the poetry of the great 19th-century German author Heinrich Heine, who brilliantly illustrates the complex and sensitive feelings of everyday existence, combining love and freedom.
