Meet Peri Perry | Art Director, Interior Designer, Real Estate Staging, Prop Stylist, Professional Organizer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Peri Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Peri, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Creating the company was never planned – it truly just happened. I have been fortunate enough to pursue my passions and people recognizing my love for interior design and space-making. Finding opportunities to express this passion has lead me to art direction, home design, interior design and personal organizing (organization is KEY to making a space beautiful).
Leveraging my skill set, I have worked in so many different disciplines, and really love all of them, so having my own business was inevitable.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love space making! It is something I have been obsessed with since my childhood – the dollhouse was constantly under renovation and redecoration!
As a child my family moved often and my mother was great at saving key items and reinventing our homes. I think I learned then the power and possibility associated with interior design. I have always felt that freedom and levity can be found through effective and purposeful use of space and decor.
By following this somewhat instinctual philosophy, so many doors have opened. I am very grateful for the career I have been given leveraging this skill set that comes quite naturally to me. Regardless of this proclivity there still have been challenges and I’ve had to learn many lessons about setting boundaries and being clear about expectations, so that I can have the most effective working relationships with my clients.
Authenticity is key to my practice. By knowing and honoring myself as clearly as possible, I am better at listening and understanding the direction of clients. Whether in a person’s home, or for a film director’s vision of a character, authenticity to help bring the story of that person to life becomes the key motive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To my parents – My parents gave me an opportunity and the support necessary to pursue a career in the arts from a very young age. It is with that privilege that I was able to travel the world, learning about many different cultures and points of view. I also completed an education in fashion design, where I was focused on textiles, materials and structure, as well as image creation and photography.
The permission to explore physically and emotionally is the biggest influence on the work I am able to do now.
