We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Brandsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, what do you attribute your success to?
We operate in the niche space of Food and Beverage and support our clients with their technology, with services helping them rationalize their technology investments, getting their technology to deliver more, and how to implement a winning change solution that drives usage of their tech investments. We have a ton of real-world experience in Product Innovation, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality with companies like Nestle and Starbucks. Because of this we are able to jump right into our clients problem areas and help them deliver successful programs. Our high-touch approach has been very successful for us.

What should our readers know about your business?
We have a lot of competition. There are many professionals out there that do what we do but practically none that can deliver what we deliver. Our clients are in the Food and Beverage and Manufacturing industries, an area where we have personal hands on experience.

I started my career in a Nestle factory in Minnesota where I was hired on as a temp to help them through their audit but quickly moved to Nestle USA supporting 32 factories with their technology. Starbucks brought my family to Seattle where I worked in Product Innovation and later in Global Strategy justifying investment and delivering next generation tech to stores, which included a hefty amount of work on their mobile app. With a desire to move back to LA, I landed a CTO/CPO role with a BCG and Voith venture building technology products in support of the circular economy.

I have been exposed to a lot of industries, their struggles, and the technology that enables their business. My company Frame & Flight leverages this personal experience to deliver the best product and value for our customers.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Los Angeles and my best friend lives in Minneapolis and a HUGE fan of the arts but also thrives on weird and unique experiences. By day we would be hitting up all the oddities of the city such as The Magic Castle and The Museum of Jurassic Tech. By night we would take in shows and find unusual places to have a drink.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have been very lucky to be surrounded by people that have encouraged me and that pushed me to do better.

The great bosses in my life – David Bauer for taking a chance on me, Todd Garner for always being there and pushing me to be better, Steven Graham for making me feel like I can make a difference.

Others – My German Linguistics Professor who gave me an ‘F’ on my paper and made me realize I wasn’t trying. My wife, whose appetite for risk is vastly different than mine yet still so supportive.
