We had the good fortune of connecting with Uneak Music and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Uneak, how do you think about risk?
Thank you VOYAGE LA for this great opportunity. Risk is a double edge sword. It can open you to great opportunities or lead you to major loses. However, as a creative entrepreneur, risk is a necessary component of my life & business. I am well acquainted with risk in all aspects & seasons. It has played a significant role in my life. It has honestly shaped me for the better. From my family’s migration to the US, risking it all to bring me to this beautiful country to business ventures I collaborated with, without risk, my life would be completely different.
At first I was fearful of risks because it can be so paralyzing. However, I now approach risk by looking at the bigger picture. I don’t always look forward to risky decisions but having a solid support team keeps me centered. My approach is to not lead emotionally but strategic focused on long term results, sprinkled with a bit of gut feeling & experience.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Uneak Music has been a life journey. It is an extension of who I am as a person and really showcases a love and drive for excellence. This journey however hasn’t always been fun and games. There have been struggles, fears and challenges that have sometimes put me in a place of doubt and wanting to give up. However Uneak Music will always push forward. That’s the thing about me. I don’t like to be known as a quitter. Uneak Music will stand the test of time
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
OK, so if you are visiting the first place, we’re going to go to is the beach. We would drive up and down the coast and catch some really good breakfast then we would head up to downtown LA and do a little bit of shopping and check out the art district. We would then catch a game at Dodger Stadium or if you would like we could go to Angel Stadium. Lastly, to look at the beautiful city that is LA we would head up to Griffith Observatory.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give thanks to my wife Stephanie who has helped me through the tough times of this journey. My parents who have always supported my dreams and pushed me to follow music. My producer mentor Greg who really shaped my musical journey as a music producer. My high school teacher Mr Young. Where I learned the passion for excellence. To all my friends who have listened to the music I’ve made through out the years. Thank you
