Meet Meital Baroz | Certified Hypnotherapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Meital Baroz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Meital, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The thing that usually surprises people is that hypnosis is a natural state of mind. It’s the transition between being awake and asleep, something we’re all familiar with.
While there are many misconceptions, largely perpetuated by the media and entertainment, we have to distinguish between stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy. These are two different applications of hypnosis, each with its own purpose and approach.
I totally get it. I used to think the same until I was lucky enough to be invited to a lecture about hypnotherapy, where I had this realization and started to gain more knowledge about it. That’s why I am so keen to share how effective it is to combine healing and therapy with hypnotic depth. Those who set aside myths and skepticism can facilitate profound changes in behavior and thought patterns.
Carefully crafting the conditions allows us to deliver the exact suggestions needed for the desired shift. The two responses I hear most from clients are ‘I am amazed’ and ‘I am surprised’ at how efficient the process is when combined with hypnosis.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We all know or sometimes feel that awareness alone is not enough; applying positive change can bring different levels of challenge and frustration. My intention is to make the ‘how’ easier. I quickly realized that my background in architectural planning is a huge advantage, as there are many similarities between architectural planning and reconditioning the mind’s loops to successfully apply a change.
What I am most excited about is how effortlessly we can shift frustration and setbacks into the force pushing us forward, as long as we customize the process with the right hypnotic depth and technique. Typically, the reason they could not make it before is that their mind could not process the shift or bypass the default resistance that is always involved.
I found that when the subconscious maneuver aligns with the client’s precise threads using these terms, it leads to their success, which is also my success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A little itinerary of mine for visitors to soak up the unique atmosphere of Los Angeles is to choose one of its diverse neighborhoods each day; they offer a unique cultural atmosphere. One of my favorite areas is Los Feliz and Silver Lake; they are nearby. Start the day in Griffith Park with a hike and visit its iconic landmarks, the Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood Sign. The views are stunning! Later, in these neighborhoods, you’ll find a mix of architectural styles, cafes, trendy and eclectic boutiques, vintage stores, and charming pockets to explore. I like to end this day at Wi, a Korean spa on Willshire Boulevard, for some hot and cold pools, saunas, steam rooms, and relaxation areas. It’s a great way to relax and rejuvenate after a day of exploring. For a day trip, I like to travel east and spend some time around the lakes. Big Bear and Arrowhead are my “Go-to” when it comes to nearby nature. Wherever you go, you’ll find diverse cuisines and authentic restaurants as well. Look for tacos, Thai, dim sum, or sushi; these are known to be the best around here, and I couldn’t agree more.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to a book by Dr. Joe Dispenza. I read “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself” the year it was published, in 2012, and all I knew up to this point about emotions and the mind laid out in a meaningful way.
His approach allowed me to see things as a structure, made so much sense, and opened the door to how I now run my practicum. Back then, I was still an interior architect, and it truly resonated with my language. One thing led to the other; six years later, during my first week in college as a student, I found out he went to the same college of hypnotherapy I did. He is in Atlanta, and I am in California. I was so excited to find out!
In his book “Evolve Your Brain: The Science of Changing Your Mind,” he mentions: For two years, on the weekends and during many evenings, I attended a school in Norcross, Georgia. I had studied over 500 hours of clinical hypnosis developed by the “father of modern hypnosis, John Kappas, Ph.D.
I am still learning from Dr. Joe and am happy I could start my career at this college before pursuing additional education in modern hypnosis along the way. If I could give another shoutout, it would be to Dr. K.
