We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariana Greenwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariana, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have a family of my own. Two children out of four had the experience to go to head start. They are my oldest two and they were able to engage with teachers. I was afraid to ever send them to day or childcare so, I waited until they were older and can speak and do for themselves to feel somewhat settled about them being in someone else’s care. I new I wanted a different environment for them to strive in and be themselves. I then begin to teach my third child how to use his small gross motor skills, reading, coloring, ect… That wasn’t enough for me when I saw the excitement on his face when he was able to do things on his own it made my days happier. I focused on the development of my children in their own different ways of how they learn. three years later I had another baby and I refused to take him to a caretaker. My Youngest son Easton wanted to learn how to do everything before he was walking. He started to speak at 6 months and he was so eager to learn. I started going to college in 2019 to get my degree in Early Childhood Education I dedicated myself to school for three years. After I graduated the next year I opened up my very own Childcare.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I was a Childcare in 2019 from there on I have become a licensed preschool and contracted through DES, working with Quality First/First things First, CCR&R, Kids Kare food program and associated with other such as NAFCC ect…
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend was coming to town I would take them to The Brunch House for Brunch, for dinner I would take them to Bonfire restaurant to get the best steak and lobster queso. We would also go to a winery or sip n paint to see our art and to get the edge off. Everyday would be something different. We would go get our nails and feet done. The next day would be Fat Cats for some fun of go-cart racing and bowling. The last day before departing we would go to a spa and facial with massages.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my family my husband Emmeil Sr. my children for challenging Emmeil Jr. Eriana, Edward, and Easton Greenwood also my Candace mom, T’ana and Travia sisters, my brother AJ who have supported me and gave me the tools I needed to survive in this industry. Also everyone who gave me a chance and didn’t give up on my hopes, goals and dreams of becoming a Preschool provider.
