We had the good fortune of connecting with Ksenia Luki and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ksenia, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
As a Reiki Master Teacher, Soundhealing Practitioner, and Recording Artist, my journey to achieving a balanced life has been deeply insightful. Ten years ago, I opened my Reiki practice with the simple desire to help others heal and grow. Over the years, as my practice expanded, I learned that maintaining my own well-being is crucial to effectively support my clients and students.

In the beginning, I focused on growing my practice. I held workshops, saw clients, and poured my energy into building a solid foundation. This intense focus, while fruitful, eventually led to burnout. I realized that in order to give my best to others, I needed to prioritize my own self-care. This shift was pivotal. Receiving, whether it be rest, relaxation, or nourishment, became just as important as giving.

Balancing my dual roles as a Reiki Master and a singer-songwriter has further highlighted the importance of self-care. As an artist, inspiration is the lifeblood of my creativity. I discovered that to keep my creative juices flowing, I sometimes need to embrace moments of stillness and solitude, while other times I need to seek collaboration or simply enjoy someone else’s musical gifts, whether at a concert or a sound bath. It’s important to understand yourself as an artist and identify the practices and rituals that spark your creative connection and nourish your channel.

Achieving a harmonious work-life balance is an ongoing journey. Today, I ensure that my schedule includes time for self-care, creative pursuits, and personal growth. Scheduling rest and time for joy and inspiration enriched my artistic endeavors and also revitalizes my practice as a healing practitioner.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I founded Moon Yogi Holistic Healing a decade ago, shortly after completing my training as a Massage Therapist, Reiki Practitioner, and Yoga teacher. I committed myself to the study of meditation, breathwork, and sound healing, dedicating countless hours to crafting signature treatments and building a strong foundation for my practice, which of course included working with clients.

2016 was a turning point in my career when I received my Reiki Master training and began teaching energy work. From that moment, Reiki became the cornerstone of my practice and my primary offering. As I started teaching and training practitioners, my classes continued to grow and expand. The dedication of my students has been truly inspiring; there have been multiple instances when people flew or drove for hours to attend these Reiki training sessions. As my practice evolved, I expanded my offerings to include a variety of workshops designed to deepen the understanding and application of Reiki, such as Sound Healing for Reiki Practitioners, Advanced Reiki Training, Business of Reiki, and the Use of Tools in Reiki Sessions. It has been profoundly fulfilling and humbling to see my practice grow.

Teaching has always been my passion, and I definitely see it as part of my Dharma. It is also a skill I honed while earning my Master’s Degree in Communications at Omsk State Pedagogical University, which focuses on training teachers and educators. My intention has always been to help my students establish a strong foundation for their Reiki practice. The most rewarding aspect of this journey has been seeing the majority of them successfully incorporate this healing modality into their lives and careers. I have even had the privilege of receiving sessions from many of them, a testament to the impact of our shared knowledge.

Music has been a part of my life since I was 6 years old, but I took a long break from it to establish myself in the United States after immigrating in 2009. As Moon Yogi Holistic Healing grew and I felt more grounded and settled, I started to devote more time to my musical pursuits. I’ve always viewed music as a healing instrument, and it has been woven into my practice in various ways but In 2017, I decided to take it to the next level by recording my own songs. This decision led to the release of my first single in 2018 and my debut album in 2019. I’ve been performing locally and internationally ever since, my songs have reached hundreds of thousands and in some cases over a million streams, and I am now working on a medicine music workshop series that includes both physical and spiritual aspects of singing. I cannot wait to share it with you.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way include the importance of staying true to my vision and following my dreams while maintaining my integrity and staying humble. However, I think the most crucial lesson has been learning what it truly means to be of service and to hold space for others.

The journey of establishing my practice and my musical career has not been easy; it required a significant amount of time, dedication, financial investment, and research. What fueled me through the challenges was my genuine love and interest for what I do, a sense of Ikigai – the Japanese concept of finding purpose and fulfillment in life. Now, I share all of the practical knowledge and nuances I’ve gained along the way with my students, helping them navigate their own paths with greater clarity and confidence.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to The Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine to meditate and enjoy the gardens. With so many beautiful beaches in the area, a day by the ocean is a must. I love the desert, and Joshua Tree has always been a place for hiking and stargazing, so I would certainly take a friend there for a couple of days. The music scene in Los Angeles is one of the most eclectic, and there is always something going on – I would take them to a sound bath, kirtan, or a medicine music concert. It would be fun to visit Griffith Park for a hike or an event in Observatory, explore Topanga Canyon, Getty Center, Broad Museum and local farmer’s markets.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yoga has brought many positive changes to my life; it has definitely opened the door to a new way of living for me for which I am forever grateful. I want to dedicate this article to the person who made me fall in love with yoga, Joe Siminski, an amazing human being and an extraordinary teacher.
