We had the good fortune of connecting with Cesar Montelongo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cesar, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My dad owned a gas station in Mexico when I was a kid, my grandma had a store where she sold snacks. When we came to the United States my dad had his own scissors sharpening business. So the business mindset was implanted in me as a child.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a screen printer, I like to try to print on different surfaces like walls, wood, gloves, plastic. I like to expand my skills far beyond just tee shirts. I am exited about also providing live screen printing and workshops for kids. It all started with a dream when I was 20 years old, I reached out to a friend and told him about starting a business and he came on board and the rest is history. At first we printed everywhere before online promos, we would take our samples and go door to door to business showering em our work.
What I’ve learned along the way is that giving the customer that personal touch goes a long way, making the deliveries personally, following up with a phone call, asking, asking them about there day etc, all that makes a huge difference versus just shipping it and sending an email.
I want the world to know that we ALL have a creative gene in our bodies because we were created in the Image of God, so our creative traits are inside of us, it’s on us to tap into that creative individual unique spark.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Most definitely take em to the beach, rent some beach cruisers and ride. We would go eat some good pizza from the hole in the wall restaurants, for sure take em to eat street tacos by downtown LA.
Go to the art district, also ride along the streets of skid row to show that LA isn’t just fun and games.
We would go check out Griffith Park, El Pino in East LA.
And for sure show them the print shop and print some merchandise so they can take back home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife and kids. They are the reason why we do what we do on a daily basis.
