Meet Lincoln Roy | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lincoln Roy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lincoln, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Concrete Jungle Live was started as a way to showcase my music as an independent artist. I believe it’s important to invest in yourself if you truly believe in your art. I wanted a way to perform my music and to create an environment where likeminded artist and creatives would appreciate. I love music so the idea of my own music showcase was there since 2017.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art comes from the soul and the heart. I feel good about my dedication and catalog of songs I’ve created in the last couple years. I’m a musician first starting as a drummer then as a keyboardist. Then as a producer/ songwriter. I evolved into an artist by the age of 21. It’s been difficult because it’s hard to be successful in the music industry as an independent artist. I overcome my challenges by making music. There’s nothing more important to me than making music. I wouldn’t throw a music showcase if I didn’t make music at a high level. Lesson I’ve learned is keep the right team around you. It’s about the creation of music at all times. I want the world to know bout concrete jungle live because it helps me tell my story and share my art and an independent artist.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Downtown LA has a hard working vibes to it. Leimert Park is always the place to be for the culture vibes. Santa Monica pier is a cool spot for a good time everyone likes the beach.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d shoutout my mom for always supporting my vision. My mom always offers books and words of encouragement throughout my journey so far. My father is a legendary reggae bass player so it’s in my blood to be a musician and artist. I’m inspired by the musicians that have come before me in Hip-hop R&B Reggae Dancehall & Afrobeats.
