Meet Misty Mansouri | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Misty Mansouri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Misty, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe in keeping the integrity of the brand. It’s so easy to get caught up in “what is trending now”. That doesn’t mean thinking narrow, or not being flexible, because you consistantly have to grow and change with what is happening around you. However, moving with intention and knowing the what the foundation is.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am in hospitality. I currently I have a cafe. Lady Byrd Cafe located in Echo Park. It is nestled in a neighborhood and it really is, a hidden little oasis. It’s an outdoor garden casual dining experience. I signed my lease in JAN 2020 and we were hit with lockdowns on my opening week. However we made it through one the most tumultuous and challenging times of my lifetime. I have spent my entire life in hospitality. I have done everything from serving, bartending, hosting, GM, event producing, staffing. I had a Management Company prior to Lady Byrd.
Through all of it, I am always clear. I want to give people an experience. I want people to have a moment where they can just feel good and comfortable, and let go of any of the burdens life throws our way.
Challenges will always arise, and somewhere theyre is always a solution.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am an LA native and Los Angeles has changed a lot the last few years. I am also a business owner and a Mom to a teenager which means I spend A lot of time at my business, and being a driver. Of course Lady Byrd would be on the top of the list, a Dodger game, beach day Malibu, or Manhattan. A show at the Hollywood bowl, El Compadre, Korean BBQ, Little Tokio, Buena venture Hotel bar at the top ( if its still open) Rose Bowl flea market, Huntington gardens, Masa in Echo Park for Pizza, and I love the Desert so at least 2 days in Palm Springs. We have some beautiful hiking as well. Im sure there are tons of great new restaurants and bars that aren’t on my radar, because my free time is limited.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Family. My Son and my Partner along with a great group of lifetime friends who have definitely always been little ray’s of light. However Jordan Birnbaum was the first person who believed in me when I was bartending and gave me the opportunity to take on a GM role for the biggest venue in Los Angeles, despite the fact that hiring a 27 year old Woman for the job, was not popular at the time.
