We had the good fortune of connecting with Dave ‘Champ’ Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dave ‘Champ’, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I believe a big reason of why we are here on earth is to help inspire and encourage those around us. For me, my best way of accomplishing this is storytelling and expressing myself freely through my craft. It’s a way to connect and relate to everyone hoping the overall message can resonate and speak to their heart and emotions.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The road to success is never an easy one, where you will come across plenty of obstacles and road blocks. But the trick is to continue driving that path. Moving from Cincinnati in 2019 to Los Angeles I can state I never expected the crazy things I would encounter over this time. Covid, housing issues, car troubles, death with family/friends. I always like to say you can’t spell testimony without the word ‘test’… It’s cliche I know, but it’s the truth. If you are driven and motivated, there isn’t a door that can stop you from walking in and getting to where you need to be. I’ve learned to always surround myself with the right group of people. Some call it a circle, I call it a dot, because my true true true friends, it’s that small to me. No shade toward anyone but when I am at that moment of feeling like I’m on the edge, I know the ones who can bring and build me back up. There was a time when I moved 6 times in 11 months (Not my fault, I promise, just bad situations I was forced into) I was living out of my car just about, and I had people there inviting me into their home, or praying for me and doing things to help me out of the rut I was in. I am forever grateful for those people and learned to keep that energy and those people with you forever.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s a lot of great things Los Angeles has to offer! Too many too mention, but I would highly recommend a sports game (if in season) – The Lakers, Dodgers, Chargers, Kings, LAFC, you name it, but you can’t go wrong with a good sports event. I also enjoy the food trucks happening in Granada Hills on Friday nights, so many choices of delicious foods to devour. If you want to get a nice view in and check out the things that make LA, I would say the Walk of Fame, or the Hollywood sign as well which you can make a hike out of it!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My little superhero and fan is everything to me, the Robin to my Batman, my little brother Ryan. He is a quiet and gentle soul but the most willing. He has helped me excel in many levels of life, but also with my creative career. The late night audition help, or is brutally honest feedback on a project I’m editing. I can count on him for everything, and I can count on him to support me no matter what it is I do. I’m truly blessed to have my best friend be my little brother and #1 supporter!
