The lessons we’ve learned along the way

One of the most important lessons we learned is that our lives and our businesses will teach us along the way. We don’t need to know everything on day one because the challenges we face on day will likely be ones we are already equipped to handle. As we overcome challenges we get better and better and as the challenges increase in difficulty so too does our ability to tackle them.
We asked members of the community that we admire to share important lessons their business or career has taught them and have shared some of those responses below.

The most important lesson you learn as being a hairdresser and salon owner is listening, people tell you what they need and want, not always in so many words but if you read between the lines they are always telling you. Sometimes it’s direct, like I want this haircut, and sometimes it’s indirect with a lot of problem solving to get there. Becoming a better listener helps you in all aspects of the salon, your stylists needs, your clients needs. It’s a great tool in my home life too for my relationship, and raising kids. Read more>>

The entertainment industry owes you nothing. It will continue to thrive after me and this generation has passed. As easy as it seems to come to certain people, do not be fooled. They are many other external things happening and helping these individuals behind the curtain. Never compare yourself to others, though others may act like they got it all figured out, they don’t!
