We had the good fortune of connecting with Alonso Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alonso, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I think risk is an amazing thing, everyone has to take a risk in their own life to see what the outcome of whatever it is they decided to risk is. My biggest risk was quitting baseball in college to continue with fashion and see where this life is going to take me. My mom still to this day doesn’t like the decision I made but it’s a risk I’m willing to try and workout because I know I can go off to do amazing things.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Fashion Content Creator is something that I love doing. I started back in September 2023 and it started off slow but in March 2024 it really picked up for me and because of it I started making a lot of new friends along the way. One thing I realized about doing fashion content was getting friends around the world and I thought that was so cool which motivated me to keep and going and not care what other people thing about it. I wouldn’t say it was easy but it was too difficult at first all I had to tell myself was to keep on going and never stop. The difficult part was mentally for me, I would always tell myself “Will I make it far?” “Will I regret quitting baseball to do this?” “Am I good enough for this?” And also trying to explain to a lot of my tíos on both sides of my family I quit baseball and I’m doing fashion content, seeing the confused looked on their faces made me have second thoughts sometimes but after a while I stopped caring what other people thought because I wanted to do this and I’m having fun with it. That’s a lesson I learned along the way also, if I care so much what other people would think of me I probably wouldn’t post much or at all. When I stopped caring what other people thought and only saw the people who were nothing but positive and happy I knew nothing bad mattered. The main thing I want the world to know about me and my story and they do what I do is to not give a fuck about what other people think because it’s your life and you should have fun doing what YOU want to do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a stay at home person so these places are my personal favorites but first living in Orange County obviously I would love to take them to Disneyland if they’ve never been. Right after I’m taking them to LA and if they were hungry I would take them to a restaurant my family has been going for decades and still to this day in Chinatown called Won Kok. Or we could also get some street tacos. I love sports especially baseball if you couldn’t tell so I would definitely take them to a Dodgers game to show them how fun the games are especially with the Dodger crowd and of course get a Dodger Dog. I also love to go to Rodeo Drive to look around now if they have money let them buy in any store they want but as for me I’ll continue to window shop. Definitely take them to Downtown LA and show them the many different things there is in there whether it be good or crazy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many people to shoutout because while some people don’t like this decision I made there is still a lot of people who supported me with this decision and see me making it big. So first I would love to shoutout God because even when times were tuff in my life I stayed with him and he stayed with me and made me the person I am right now. Of course shoutout my Ma, even though I know you would want me to be in baseball still thank you for all the loving support you give me and you are proud of what I’ve done I love you Ma. Shoutout my dad my pops! I know this isn’t baseball but I hope you are looking down at me proud of something that I’m doing even if it isn’t on a field, I love you and miss you everyday bro. Shoutout both sides of my family and everyone who’s supported me. Special shoutout to all my cousins who make everything so fun and give me nothing but love. On my mom’s side shoutout to Jovis, Osito, and Justin who has a brand himself (hoodangels) and from my dad’s side shoutout Moi, Cristian, Ferny, Sebastian, Jackie, and talie.
