Meet Adam Arnone | Musician/Sound Editor/Company Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Arnone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
It’s all about trusting yourself. That’s the most important thing. There is beauty and success in letting go. I prefer saying that instead of giving up. Giving up has a negative connotation. Learning how to give something your all and then realizing when you’ve gone as far as you can is a necessary skill. I’ve learned to trust myself and listen to all the signs I’m getting if I need to shift focus to something else. I also know that the choice to keep going or let go is at the heart of every piece of art I’ve ever made. Sometimes the question gets answered in a split second and sometimes I’m pondering for weeks. Listing pros and cons inside my own mind or to my inner circle. It’s unbelievably hard. If you truly care about what you’re doing then these kinds of decisions are heavy and not to be taken lightly. That’s my experience at least, but I know it’s different for everyone. What makes it even more complicated is that there’s no one clear definition of success that fits every situation. It’s very fluid. Sometimes success is just getting out of bed in the morning. Above all you need to be kind to yourself and try to find the places where you’re thriving and understand why those things are working so well. It’s probably because you picked the right way to let go or keep going.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been a professional rapper/artist for 24 years. Nothing about that road has been easy. Unpredictable income, time away from friends and family, a constantly changing landscape. It’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do. I knew from when I was young growing up in a small town in New Hampshire. I saw Run DMC in 1986 and never looked back. Hiphop taught me about overcoming adversity and creating something worth sharing. It gave me community. It’s all those things that gave me a foundation strong enough to hold me up when I changed career focus and starting producing music behind the scenes.
I’m excited about the work my company Echo Finch is doing in the podcast, branding, and licensing world. We’ve been working hard to establish ourselves with a unique sound and tireless work ethic. We’re always on the lookout for new creative ways we can work with other businesses, non profits, and artists. I’ve learned that business and life are all about relationships. Treating people with kindness, acceptance, and compassion will always be my first priority.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m assuming you mean LA. Which is funny because I live in Peterborough, NH. About 7000 people. My closest friend Mark “Exit” Goodchild lives in LA and I would just default to him to show y’all around. BUT if you wanted to know about Peterborough then I would take you to Wales Preserve for a beautiful walk by the river then to Aesops Cafe to get a legendary sandwich and pastry. We could go to the movie theatre in town and see something in the air conditioned theatre. Then another walk by the waterfall that runs through the center of town and ending at Pearl Restaurant for the roll your own sesame tofu wraps with peanut sauce. The best.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m always inspired by all the brave and creative people in my life. Everyone listed on https://echofinch.com/about/
All the artists that have become the soundtrack to my productivity. My incredible wife, my kids, and my friends.
Also huge thanks for De La Soul for making me the writer I am today.
