We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Cate Hoffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mary Cate, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The single most important decision for me was deciding not to take the word ‘no’ personally. You’re going to hear a lot of no’s in this life, but every no is a new direction.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Everybody’s journey is different. I enjoy the climb. Every day is a new day to improve and learn. I think the biggest strategy anyone could use is listening and keeping an open mind. I am super proud of how my film work has developed as an actor. Along with this, I’m proud of each successful post on social media. Every collaboration means the world to me. I love that in both content creation and acting I can share that excitement with others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d say that I have three favorite places to go, but really there are so many great places in this city. First, I’d take my friends to Newport Beach, or any of the beautiful beaches around. Studio tours are, also, a favorite of my friends who visit. The studio tours are so incredible and give a bit of nostalgia along with information that most wouldn’t know about the film industry. The best part is that each studio tour is so different from the others. Disneyland is, also, a favorite. The countless theme parks in this area are so entertaining.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to take this opportunity to shout out my Mom, Elizabeth. She’s my inspiration, my daily motivator and the best Mom a girl could’ve ever asked for. I am so thankful for her. She’s the reason I am where I am today.
