Meet Melinda Matticoli

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melinda Matticoli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melinda, why did you pursue a creative career?
I feel through perusing an artistic career path I get the chance to use my art as a way to continuously learn more about myself. I feel although this career is extremely challenging in many ways, there are a lot of great payouts that make it worth it in the end.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I got to where I am by making art and putting it out into the world. I feel making the leap to start and continue to put yourself out there is definitely a challenge, but it is always a great time to start creating because you never know what will come up or who will see your work! Taking the leap with people cheering for you is always helpful, but you also have to be there to cheer and believe in your own self. We all are uniquely ourselves which is such a beautiful thing and taking the opportunity to share that through art is something everyone should be focusing on exploring.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love walking so definitely a nice walk will be on the plans! I also love thrifting, one of my favorite places is “Out of the Closet” in West Hollywood, super affordable and great pieces! While in WeHo I would swing into Barrys, my favorite workout spot.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thank you to all of my friends who have been there to support me through my journey! This industry is not easy, and having such a supportive community and people to cheer me on is so helpful. Getting to see my friends achieve their goals is also such a motivator.
