We had the good fortune of connecting with Endre Barath and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Endre, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I was a Captain in the U.S. Army in my younger days where I learned the importance of leadership, trust, ethics and flexibility. Those traits have carried into my day-to-day life, and my business. Clients must feel confident in trusting the advice they are given, and a realtor must be ethical and a clear communicator. Flexibility is also key as any successful and honest realtor will tell you, you can always expect the unexpected in a transaction.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Everyone deserves to be treated professionally and respectfully and have their questions and concerns addressed promptly. In my career as a Realtor, this has always been my motto. I answer my phone, or if I can’t, I return phone calls as soon as possible. The same applies to responding to emails and texts.

No, it was not easy to break into a real estate career. I started out in Boston, MA, on Beacon Hill during the time of pagers, pay phones, fax machines and wet signatures. After practicing for two years in Boston, I relocated to Los Angeles, CA where my Boston license was not accepted. I had to study and take an intense written test in a classroom, no online testing back then. Add to that, I had to learn my way around Los Angeles and beyond, again, before navigation systems in cars. I had a Thomas Guide on the passenger seat of my car and would drive around all day long to familiarize myself with Los Angeles. When I compare then to now, I can appreciate how much technology has played a role in making everything more convenient on so many levels, including representing and assisting my clients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s so much to do in the greater Los Angeles area and California overall, it would be hard to narrow down an itinerary. Certainly, Los Angeles has as much to offer as anyone would want. I’ll try to give a variety of what I might want to do.

My basic tour guide is to drive my friends around Hollywood Boulevard, the Hollywood sign, Sunset Strip, Sony Studios, MGM, Paramount, Fox Studios, Beverly Hills and Century City. And of course, you can’t miss out on our beaches, Marina del Rey, Manhattan Beach, Hirmosa Beach, Redondo Beach and of course, Malibu.

Then there’s the Hollywood Bowl or the Greek Theater, both unique LA experiences, particularly if one loves music.

As for restaurants, I have many favorites. If I had to narrow it down, I’d give a shout out to Saltie Girl on Sunset.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I was today – in Real Estate, in Los Angeles, a pet parent – without the support of my life partner, Diane.
