Meet Maria Beltran

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Beltran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maria, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
The end goal of my career is to be able to bring a smile to people’s faces when they receive one of our top quality bouquets! Hopefully in the future we will open a flower shop and maybe expand our business! One of my other goals is for my mom to leave her current job and become a full time florist, it has been a dream of hers and gain enough customers so she can create bouquets as well to live her dream as a successful florist. All my parents have done was give up their dreams to Pursue my sisters and I every need. My goal is to help my parents out in the long run, become successful on social media in the florist industry and make people happy.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our Bouquets are made to be custom to your liking. You can customize them with different colors, types of flowers, shapes and sizes etc. Practice makes perfect is what I like to think, and when I first started off the bat I didn’t think it was ever hard. I’m a perfectionist but of course there is always room for improvement. Sometimes I have good days and bad days, it’s okay to take breaks and start fresh. It’s okay to not have your DMs flooded with orders, your time will come on it’s own. You must learn to trust the process. One thing I learned is that you should never comprare yourself to another florist. Pricing wise, shaping wise etc. everyone’s work is different and unique. You don’t want your work to look exactly like theirs! It’s important to be yourself and have fun.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here in LA there are many amazing things to do! Personally I love a good beach day! Or when I want to go shopping I like to walk around the grove. On Sundays there’s a flea market called “The melrose trading post” and it’s really cool, they have many vintage things and sometimes you can spot celebrities! There are also many places to eat and theme parks, there’s also the famous Hollywood walk of fame! Where you can see the stars of Hollywood and maybe even take a tour! My family and I enjoy going out, our favorite places to go are the mall specifically Glendale Galleria!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom and Dad are our biggest supporters, my sister and I run our small business, but they are the heart of it. My parents are from Mexico, they grew up poor and money was tight. They came to the US for a better life and their dreams were to be successful and to be able to give my sister and I a childhood they never had. My mom and dad are both very smart, talented, determined and problem solving kind of people as well as creative. They help us with materials and sometimes come up with new ideas. They are very involved and they enjoy helping out. We’re so thankful to have them by our sides and to help us out. They are the most selfless people I know, they always give back to those in need and although we might not have much, we always have each other. This wouldn’t have been possible without them. Also our family and friends that have bought from us when we first started our business, every sale means a lot to us! We appreciate everyone that has ever ordered and to our supporters out there from around the world..thank you!
