Meet Jason Bahamundi | Entrepreneur and Endurance Sports Athlete

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Bahamundi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
There are a lot of factors behind the success of the Run Tri Bike brand but the most important one is to show up consistently.
Not everyday is going to be unicorns and rainbows but by showing up we can learn a lot more than if we don’t. Some days you hit the ball out of the park and other days you get struck out. That happens and will always happen.
What you learn from those successes and failures is what matters and allows you to compound success.
Be patient, take risks, learn from your actions.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Run Tri Bike is the Premiere Voice of the Everyday Athlete proving that there is a spot at the starting line for everybody and every body.
By sharing these stories we are inspiring and motivating people to get involved in endurance sports as well as helping them overcome any obstacles that stand in their way to success.
When we launched the business we were primarily a print magazine with a website. Today, we have pivoted to a digital magazine with a website and social media presence plus a podcast network.
Having these distribution points for the stories we share allows us to meet our audience where they are. Some want to read, others want to listen while others want the short snippet that social media provides. Being present in these areas allows these stories to get the attention that they deserve.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in Los Angeles, the answer is going to change on a regular basis because there is so much to do.
A drive on the PCH up to Camarillo from the Beach Cities would be a must. Stops at Kristy’s Village Cafe in Malibu, Javaman in Hermosa Beach, Joibird Cafe in Westlake Village are a must. I would also make sure that we stopped at Pura Vida in WeHo. There also has to be a moment to stop at Paisano’s in Hermosa Beach for a NYC slice (or three!)
Going to Griffith Park for a hike or a run on The Strand in the Beach Cities are also going to be a must.
With so much to offer, they are going to have to come back more than once!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Run Tri Bike doesn’t happen without the help and support of a number of different people.
Lori Hauck encouraged me when the idea of the business was hatched. Aum Gandhi showed up when the operations of the business became too much for one person to handle.
And there are the athletes that trust us to share their stories. We are story tellers but without athletes willing to share their story, and in a vulnerable way, then our business doesn’t get off the ground.
