We had the good fortune of connecting with Barbara Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Barbara, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I view risk as a necessary part of growth and opportunity. As a tattoo artist, taking risks has been crucial to my journey. Moving to new cities to pursue my career meant leaving behind stable jobs, friends, and family.
Since moving to the U.S. a year and a half ago, I’ve faced the challenge of starting over in a new country. Despite the difficulties, these risks have expanded my horizons and allowed me to grow both as an artist and as an individual.
Risk has taught me resilience and has been key in helping me achieve my dreams.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
From a young age, I’ve been drawn to art and creativity, which led me to study Fine Arts in Sevilla. This formal education was crucial in developing my technical skills and artistic vision. What sets my work apart is my commitment to constantly pushing the boundaries of my creativity and stepping out of my comfort zone. I believe that true excellence in art comes from perseverance and a relentless desire to improve.
Building a recognizable style in today’s competitive art world is challenging. It requires not only honing your craft but also deeply engaging with other artists and continually exploring new experiences. My journey has involved studying art extensively, learning from fellow artists, and applying these lessons to develop a unique style that resonates with people.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my family and friends who have always supported my dreams and helped me grow as a person and as an artist. Most of all, I want to thank my clients because without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
