Meet Veronica Stevens | Acne Healing Specialist & Spiritual Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Stevens and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The inspiration behind starting my own business came from a deep, personal journey of healing and self-discovery. Having battled my own health issues, I experienced firsthand how frustrating it can be when traditional methods only scratch the surface, treating symptoms instead of addressing the root cause. This realization ignited a passion within me to create something different—a space where women could truly heal, not just cosmetically but holistically.
With my experience in clinical skincare and my personal journey in holistic health, I knew there was a better way to approach skin health—one that goes beyond quick fixes and focuses on long-term, sustainable results. Skin is a mirror of our internal well-being, and I wanted to help women not only achieve clear, glowing skin but also feel empowered, confident, and understood in their journey toward wellness.
By focusing on uncovering and addressing the root causes of skin issues, I’ve made it my mission to transform lives, not just appearances. I believe that when clients feel deeply cared for and supported, not only do they see real results, but they also experience a deeper connection to themselves and their overall health. My goal is to provide more than just treatments; I aim to be a partner in each client’s healing journey, ensuring they feel valued as whole individuals every step of the way.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Please tell us more about your business. What sets you apart from others? What are you most proud of or excited about?
Skin Sanctuary is more than just a place for skincare; it’s a haven for transformation. What truly sets me apart is my holistic approach to healing. I specialize in helping women who have struggled for years with persistent acne and scarring—women who have tried everything and feel disheartened. I believe that true skin healing starts from within, so I don’t just focus on surface-level treatments. Instead, I dig deep to help my clients uncover the root cause/s of their skin issues, combining science-backed DMK Skin Revision treatments with spiritual practices like Reiki and sound healing. This combination allows me to address the physical, emotional, and energetic layers of healing, offering my clients a complete mind-body-skin transformation.
What excites me the most is witnessing my clients regain their confidence. Their skin journey is a reflection of their overall well-being, and watching them leave my space not just with clearer skin but with renewed self-esteem and a sense of peace is what drives my passion.
How did you get to where you are today business-wise? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
The journey to building Skin Sanctuary wasn’t easy, but it was deeply fulfilling. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced challenges like self-doubt and imposter syndrome. I questioned whether I was truly capable of guiding people through their healing journeys. Building trust with clients, especially in a field where they may have already faced disappointment, was another challenge. Additionally, navigating the day-to-day complexities of running a business, from operations to finances, was a steep learning curve.
What got me through was my commitment to my passion for healing. I continued to educate myself, learning not just about skin health but about the connection between mind, body, and spirit. I also leaned heavily on my support system—friends, family, mentors. Most importantly, I never lost sight of my mission to make a difference in people’s lives.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of patience and self-compassion, especially during challenging times—both with myself and with my clients. Healing is not an overnight process; it’s an ongoing journey. I’ve come to understand that success, whether in skincare or business, takes time and persistence. Another important lesson has been the value of genuine connection. My clients aren’t just cases to solve; they’re individuals with unique stories and needs. I’ve learned to listen to them, and to honor their journey as much as my own.
What do you want the world to know about you, your brand, and your story?
I want the world to know that Skin Sanctuary is about more than clear skin—it’s about restoring confidence, balance, and overall well-being. My story is one of resilience, education, and trust, not just in the healing process but in the intelligence of our bodies. Our skin is a reflection of our internal health, and by listening to the signs and signals our body gives us, we can achieve real, lasting change. My mission is to support people every step of the way, offering them both clinical and spiritual guidance to help them with lasting healing and results.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting LA for a week, we’d start with Gratitude Group for a soundbath meditation with gratitude journaling, and community sharing at Elysian Park, and then breakfast at Café Gratitude for healthy, plant-based vibes. Then, we’d hike Millard Canyon Falls Trail, my favorite leisure waterfall hike. Lunch would be at Gracias Madre for delicious organic Mexican food, followed by Ecstatic Dance at Venice Beach. We’d also visit Topanga Canyon for nature, and Crystal shopping. We would have to visit the Ranch I volunteer at to say Hello to my favorite pigs and horses! To wrap up the trip, we’d enjoy a Full Moon Circle on the beach or at one of my favorite metaphysical shops—a perfect mix of wellness and relaxation!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! I want to give a huge shoutout to my soul friend, Heathir Brown (HeathirBrown.com). She has been an unwavering source of support, wisdom, and expansion, not only for my business life but also for my personal growth. Her friendship has truly been transformative. I also want to acknowledge my amazing business coach, Becca Francis (BeccaFrancis.com). She has been instrumental in helping me navigate the more challenging aspects of being a business owner, and through her Human Design coaching, she has illuminated my path, helping me understand myself on a deeper level and why I am so passionate about helping others on their healing journeys.
A special thank you to, Danné Montague-King, the creator of DMK Skincare and the DMK Skin Revision with Enzyme Therapy Treatment. His revolutionary approach to skincare has profoundly shaped how I approach skin healing. I also have to give immense credit to my incredible clients. Their trust, dedication, and commitment to their healing journeys inspire me daily!
Lastly, my family and friends—my biggest supporters—have continuously pushed me to follow my passion. Their love and encouragement remind me of the impact I can make, and I truly wouldn’t be here without them.
