Meet Zamaria Thompson | Holistic Health Coach and Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Zamaria Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zamaria, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks is exciting!
That feeling you get right before you’re about to do something you perceive as “risky” yet it also lights your soul on fire with excitement and sends chills down your spine. THAT’s the sweet stuff.
Success favors the brave! Taking calculated risks, taking the leap of faith before you feel fully ready… that’s what cultivates self-confidence and growth. Risk breeds innovation. Even if you “fail” you LEARN and GROW… and that’s a hell of a lot better than staying the same.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art has truly been an expression of my life experiences.
I don’t really over-think it. I simply act on what feels natural. Sometimes that looks like jumping on my Instagram story to share a download I received during my morning meditation or walk, sometimes it looks like dancing in my living room, sometimes it looks like capturing a video clip of birds in nature or creating a nourishing recipe video.
There’s many challenges that come with being a creative person — with being a human in this life experience. Whenever I feel “stuck” or lacking creative energy I definitely get down on myself. But I try to shift my mindset and remember that those moments are part of the process. They’re a sign to take a step back, to disconnect, get lost, play and breathe.
Humans get so serious sometimes! It’s silly, because it’s not that serious.
No one knows what they’re doing. We’re all experimenting! But, we’re also all limitless!!
And the only limitations are the ones we perceive as such.
THAT’s what I try to communicate with the world with my work.
to simply flow with it all, freely. 🙂

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Omgosh I love this question because I’m a virgo moon and LOVE planning.
Some of my best friends would probably say I’m a “chill perfectionist.”
I would take them to some of my favorite hikes in Malibu or Topenga. Vasquez Rocks trail or Los Leones are two other great ones right off PCH.
We would then go to the Malibu Country Mart for smoothies or lunch. So much good food and shopping there.
We’d end with Taverna Tony’s for dinner and catch the sunset on the beach.
Exploring West Hollywood another day and going to Great White for brunch, Community Goods coffee and maybe doing some thrift shopping.
I’m a soho house member and LOVE all of the houses in LA, so we’d definitely go to those. Each one on a different day depending on what side of town we’re at.
Silver Lake and Larchmont Village are two other areas I really like.
It truly depends on the vibe for the day.
Actually, I’d plan each day according on the vibe we were going for. That’s what I love about LA! You really can get anything you’re looking depending on what side of town you’re on.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my parents deciding to move to the U.S. from Mexico when I was 6 years-old.
I cannot imagine how brave they had to be to leave their entire lives behind to try to give my siblings and I a better life.
Kate Johnson who I had the pleasure of working with during my time on the social media team at Ancient Nutrition. She’s such a badass leader and human. She really inspires me to never be afraid to speak up and take up space as a woman. So lucky to call her a friend.
Dr. Josh Axe, who I also worked with and taught me so much about what I know about health and wellness.
Simon Cheng, founder and CEO of Pique who I work for as Sr. Social Media Manager has truly pushed me beyond my limits and has taught me so much about business and spirituality.
