Meet Seohyun Jeong | Designer & Illustrator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Seohyun Jeong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Seohyun, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
As a designer, I believe that taking risks has been a big part of my journey. Whenever I tried something new—whether it was making a style guide, building a brand, or designing food packaging—I faced challenges that were outside my usual work. But each project helped me grow.
What seemed risky at first became great opportunities to learn. These experiences opened my eyes, improved my design skills, and gave me a better understanding of the creative process. Without these challenges, I wouldn’t have developed the wide range of skills I have now.
For me, taking risks means stepping out of my comfort zone to grow as a designer. It has always pushed me to become better and more confident in my work.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Hello! I’m a versatile designer and illustrator with a passion that extends far beyond illustration, packaging, graphic design, and branding. I see the unique charm in every area of design and illustration, and I’m excited to dive into every one of them, blending their essence to craft something truly my own. I thrive on flexibility and am always eager to learn new techniques and explore new possibilities. For me, every project is an exciting opportunity to grow and expand my skills and push the limits of creativity.
I believe my flexibility and versatility have played a key role in getting me to where I am today. I work in both painting and design, blending the two to create something truly special. Initially, I worried that I wasn’t fully committed to either side, but now I see that having both skills gives me a unique edge. These combined abilities allow me to produce more creative and original work than ever before.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Napa Valley. It’s the perfect place to connect with friends because it allows us to focus on each other in a relaxed setting. Of course, wine tasting is a must in Napa! With so many wineries to choose from, both large and small, we could spend the day laughing, chatting, and enjoying the atmosphere together.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to express my gratitude to my friend, Jihoon for giving me this incredible opportunity. I’m excited to share my story and truly appreciate the chance to do so.
