We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel ”Pure” Sandell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Since my mission in life is to be an artist & musician, I wholeheartedly embrace risks that are in alignment with that. I live every day in the pursuit of reaching my full potential, both on the musical side as well as the personal. With this as my foundation, I trust my intuition strongly when it comes to taking certain “risky decisions”. I understand that the ego will always struggle with the unknown, but operating from a place of trust and faith is where true power resides. And where truly exciting results can manifest.

Earlier this year I sold all my whole music studio, my car & all belongings in Sweden and ventured out to LA without a clear picture of the steps laying ahead. All I had was a vision of me thriving in my career as well as in life. And that, rather than a fully mapped out plan, was what I chose to trust and commit to. It is only through leaps of faith that one truly experience the magic of life – as well as achieve big things.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am truly diverse in how I create and curate music. I express myself in songwriting, music production, composition, singing, playing multiple instruments, DJing, and organizing events and parties. My Swedish background brings a unique perspective to my current work in creating R&B and soul music in Los Angeles, which I embrace in all aspects of my work.

My journey to LA was filled with challenges and difficulties. It’s not easy to deal with the visa process (I am on an “artist-visa”). However, overcoming these obstacles has given me an advantage, as it has proven that I can endure tough times and still achieve my goals. I created this life a long time ago. I was living in The US *in my mind* way before I got here. It was penned to my journal in present tense as early as 2017. And here I am, currently living in Hollywood. Look at how life works!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I mean, I have only lived in LA for 6 months, so I still have alot to discover myself. But based off of my time here I would say this.

Best bar / restaurant: Mr T (Hollywood)
Best brunch spot: Great White (West Hollywood)
Best music venue: The Peppermint Club (Beverly Hills)
Best tacos: The taco stand on Melrose / Vine (Hollywood)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to have the support and inspiration of incredible individuals, for which I am truly grateful. One of them is a former mentor of mine, mindset coach Sofia Lilja, who is based in Stockholm, Sweden. She saw my gifts during a part of my journey where most people didn’t understand or support me. At the time I had made the decision to expand my musical expression through playing instruments & sing. And, as we all know, in the beginning of a new venture you aren’t particularly good hehe, but she could see the vision of where I was heading and supported that. Supporting someone’s pursuit of a *vision* rather than *result* is a powerful thing to do, because most people will only show up when the success already has taken place. So for that I’m very grateful for Sofia.
Additionally, studying the underlying principles of The Universe has also been pivotal to my personal growth. Gaining knowledge of how reality works “behind the scenes” has been key to all my practices & desicions in life. Books like the Kybalion, The Power of Now, and Tao Te Ching have been great cornerstones for my development.
