We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Lisanti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mike, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
In a nutshell, it’s about not caring what others think.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m not an artist anymore, but I’ve channeled my creative side into business, accounting, and strategy for my clients. It hasn’t been an easy road to achieve success in music and management, and I believe that a lot of it came from luck, timing, preparation, and core values. I’m only as successful as the artists I manage, and I’m fortunate that many of them are having major moments in their careers. I work as if I could lose everything tomorrow, and while that’s true for anyone, I don’t think enough people fully embrace or fear the possibility that they could be in that position.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Crankdat, Tommy Cooperman (Breathe Carolina), Lorne Padman (President of Dim Mak Records), David Gordoni (Agent at UTA), Max Nied (Head of Events at Monstercat and Partner at Vital Events), and Borgeous — to name just a few.
