Meet Miracle Pelayo | Actress, Model, Fashion Content Creator, Cerebral Palsy Warrior

We had the good fortune of connecting with Miracle Pelayo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miracle, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursude acting and modeling because I felt like it was my calling at a very young age. Growing up as a child at the age of 4, my dad would always video tape me and I thought in my head I had my own tv show. I always felt at home in front of the camera. And that’s when I knew I was bit with the acting bug. When I was 12, my parents took me to go see a play and I noticed the lead actress was able bodied playing a disabled character and I turn to my Dad and I said.I was going to change that one day. I started doing theater in middle school and in high school

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Miracle Pelayo and I am an actor, model. And fashion content creator with Cerebral Palsy. I have been in the industry for over 11 years now featured on Nickelodeon, Tommy Hilfiger, and I am the voice of the first American Girl Doll with Cerebral Palsy named Lily in YouTube’s AG Doll Series:The Travel Twins.
What I am most excited about my journey is being a voice for others and using my platform of giving people hope that miracles happen everyday.
Starting out in the industry with a disability is not easy. There so many ups and downs and rejection but honestly, that makes me push every harder. In acting, you audition more than you are on set and that’s the truth but auditioning is so much fun and what keeps me going is the reason of WHY I am doing this and it’s to show people you can make your dream possible but it starts by wanting it so badly that you are ready for whatever comes your way.
What I want people to know is that anyone with a disability has a story to tell. Your disability is a gift even if you don’t see it yet. God is asking you to use it for His Glory and it will be for a purpose for so many others.
I started being a fashion content creator and a model to give young girls with disabilities to show them they can rock any outfit just by sitting in their wheelchair or being in their walker. Having a disability can be challenging at times but how you use it can give you the outlook that you need to help people believe in themselves.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite place in the world is New York City because I am the biggest musical theater geek you will ever meet. It’s my dream to see a musical on Broadway. LA is my home and will always have my heart. I love going to the theater and seeing live theater musicals because that’s how I started my career with theater.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The biggest shoutout goes to The One who made my dream possible and that’s JESUS! He is literally the reason why I am here to be a voice for the disabled community. Another shoutout goes to my family for believing in my talent and for always supporting me and truly taking the time to do whatever it takes to help me make my dream possible! Being in the industry, it take a village and they are always there for me no matter what.
I want to also acknowledge the ones who gave me my love for performing and that was Laurie and Lynsey Bartilson, Michael Fairman, Joy Graysen in my early teen years and early adult years starting out as an artist and for giving me the platform through Kids On Stage For a Better World.
My Acting Coach’s Over The years, Jan Linder Koda, Charles Tentindo, Kelly Heyer, and Danielle Vermengo for showing me that acting comes from life experiences from an honest place. My drama teachers Heidi Elaine and Lars Hansen for instilling in me that the theater is place to come alive through performing.
My agents at DDO ARTIST and my manager Elle Potruch for always helping shine through every self tape and for embracing my excitement when I am at my “ Disneyland” (aka on Set). I love my dream team so much for always having my back and opening up so many doors to be a light for others who need someone to show them they can! It’s more than just about acting but using my platform to be a voice
My hero Keely Cat Wells for teaching me how to be a voice in the industry for the disabled community.
To the Disabled Community and my Cerebral Palsy Warriors for being my WHY In what I do everyday.
