We had the good fortune of connecting with SuzE Q and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SuzE Q, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The single most important decision I’ve made in my journey to success is to consistently pursue what I am truly passionate about—things that bring joy to both myself and others. The key has been finding that sweet spot where my passions align with what people want and need and are willing to pay for. I’ve successfully applied this approach across various niches in both the arts and wellness industries.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art has evolved over the years, beginning with my career as a professional dancer and choreographer, where I had the honor of working with world-renowned artists like Madonna, Pink, Rihanna, Kanye, Justin Timberlake, and the Black Eyed Peas. Dance has always been my first love, and what sets me apart is my ability to be unapologetic in my expression while connecting with the audience, sparking emotion within them. Whether I am dancing or choreographing or the the project is fun or heavy, I find a way to bring authenticity and soul to my work.

The entertainment industry is known for its highs and lows, and navigating that rollercoaster was challenging. At the age of 23, I discovered Kundalini yoga, which became a grounding force in my life. This practice gave me the inner strength and clarity to manage the pressures of the industry, teaching me that my worth wasn’t tied to landing a job or receiving external validation. It helped me understand that my intrinsic value remained, regardless of success or rejection. This foundational lesson allowed me to not only endure the challenges but to thrive and evolve in a profound way.

As my journey unfolded, I felt drawn to share these transformative tools with others, leading me to expand my talents into the world of holistic wellness. Today, as a Bespoke Wellness and Entertainment Curator, I offer a powerful combination of Hypnosis, EFT, Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, Sound Healing, and Transformational Coaching to help individuals unlock their potential. I’m most proud of the profound transformations I’ve seen in my clients, guiding them through deep emotional healing, helping them break free from limiting beliefs, and empowering them to live their best lives. With my seasoned career in entertainment I still enjoy choreographing and curating entertainment for events and beyond.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are that resilience, self-love, and inner alignment are key to lasting success, no matter what industry you’re in. My brand, whether through dance or wellness, is about authenticity, emotional depth, and helping people step into their highest potential. Through my workshops, one-on-one sessions, and my books Procrastination Hacks and Unlocking the Matrix, I share these transformative tools with the world. Ultimately, my story is about using the power of movement, energy, frequency and personal growth to inspire others to reach their fullest potential.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I always say that if people don’t enjoy LA, they just haven’t explored the right parts! I love being the go-to LA host for friends who come to visit. Having lived on the East Side for 17 years, I usually kick things off with a scenic hike in Griffith Park, where they can take in breathtaking views of the Hollywood sign. Afterward, we might grab a bite at Trails Cafe or head down to Los Feliz for a delicious nosh at Alcove.

For friends who love thrifting and a hipster foodie vibe, Echo Park is a perfect destination. The Atwater Farmers Market on Sundays is always a winner, too. And, of course, we have to venture to the West Side! I love taking a leisurely drive through Topanga Canyon, stopping at charming mom-and-pop shops on our way to the Pacific Coast Highway and up through Malibu.

At some point, we absolutely have to make our way to Santa Monica for a sunset stroll and dinner in Venice at Cafe Gratitude—always a treat (while carefully avoiding rush hour, of course). No trip to LA would be complete without a day downtown, visiting incredible museums like The Broad, FIDM, and MOCA, followed by lunch in Little Tokyo. We’d wrap up the day with dinner on the rooftop at Perch for stunning views of the city lights, then enjoy live music and dancing at The Edison, famous for its historical architecture and preserved machinery.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh, I love this question! I’d like to dedicate my shout-out to the Dance Convention Industry, especially Tremaine Dance Conventions. In the ’90s, this was where I met some of my most influential mentors who supported me both as an artist and a person. Just thinking about it makes me emotional.

Coming from a small dance studio without the budget for fancy costumes or matching shoes, we relied on heart and grit. A few remarkable teachers saw my potential and made sure I had the support to pursue my dream of becoming a professional dancer. A special shout-out goes to Vallerie Webb, my small-town dance teacher with big-city energy, who took us to these conventions because she knew I was destined for more.

I also want to honor the late Doug Caldwell, who inspired emotional depth in my dance and introduced me to genius creator, Ryan Heffington, with whom I was fortunate to work with for several years. Lastly, my heartfelt thanks to Linda Bernabei-Retter and Darryl Retter, who provided me with a scholarship at 19 that made moving to LA and jump-starting my career possible. I am forever grateful.
