Meet Jah Jah | Media Journalist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jah Jah and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jah, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking… One of my favorite things to do lol. My life is all about taking risk. There’s no reward without it. Some of my best life experiences came from me taking risk. From me deciding to move back to NY for college literally 3 weeks after I decided to go. To years later moving from the East Coast to the West coast sporadically with my partner and our son. Some of my best interviews came from risk taking as well. From Dipset, to Guap Dad 4000, to even Soulja Boy. Just to name a few. I literally will find out where the artist would be, pull up, no press pass no backstage pass, Just confidence, and finesse. 😂 But not questioning myself and just DOING it is what I believe taking risk is all about . On top of that the worse it can get is you get rejected.. Oh well TRY AGAIN! Never want to live with the “What If” factor you know?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most proud of my accomplishments that I’ve acquired through my journey . The ups and downs, the sacrifices and anxiety. And most importantly the people I’ve met and the experiences that shaped me into the person I am today. I came so far and learned so much.. I’m excited to see what’s in store for me next.
I got to where I am by determination, staying true to myself, principles, and not being nasty to people. Understanding that my time is my time and I can’t compare my path, progress and purpose to others. My PASSION is what keeps me afloat though. Cause it’s tough in this industry especially when people don’t take you seriously because they don’t know you.. You gotta be “BIGTIME” to yaself first, so others can follow..
Of course it’s not easy. Nothing worth keeping will be easy. That’s the beauty of it though. The struggle, the lessons you learn from fucking up. The experiences. Makes the success so much more succulent when it comes because you remember the journey and it makes you appreciate the process so much more.. I just kept going. Kept testing myself.. Having people around that genuinely care and supports you helps a TON AS WELL! Shoutout to the Birches that does that for me. You know who you are ❤️
I’ve learned to be very observant because people are weird and unpredictable. Be yourself because people are going to talk shit whether you are doing bad or good. Don’t take everything personal because most of the time it’s not you. And to not get upset or anxious at the things you can’t control. Life comes at you fast lol stay ready so you don’t have to get ready !
I want people to know that my brand is all about hearing peoples stories and their journey .It’s a safe space to express your opinions, views, talent etc.. It’s fun, it’s raw, colorful and it’s comfortable. I want people to see my story and get inspired to do wtf your purpose ordained you to do.. Ask the questions people are afraid to ask, take the risk others are afraid to take. Life is a big movie and you are always the director of it. Every one else are just the cast.. You can write them in and out. As long as you wake up to see another day, you have a chance to create the life you want to live. And I won’t stop writing my script until the story is where I want it to be .

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My bestie has come and visit me plenty of times in Las Vegas . We were really spontaneous when she comes out here so we never really had an itinerary. But if I were to make one here’s how it would go.
First we would go to breakfast early in the morning at one of my two favorite breakfast spots.. Eggworks or Hash House a go go. I absolutely love the food there.. We would then probably go ride the dunes or atv in the desert.. Go back home freshen up. Then off to an another adventure lol. We are childish af so we would probably go to the Wax museum to laugh and talk shit, the Las Vegas sign to take pictures, a comedy show before we love to laugh or people watch on the strip. Then we would slide to Fuel Bar at the Horseshoe hotel and get a couple of those 2 for $17.00 drinks..lmao they’re real heavy handed at that bar.. Of course we gonna be hungry again so we would probably eat at this lounge called Born and raised which has the best Happy Hour food,. Knowing us we probably would go back to my house to nap( cause we are getting old ) lol and depending on how we feel when we wake up will determine the next move. So I would either take her to Big Jerk or a hookah lounge, a show on the strip OR STAY HOME! Lmao Cuz we LOOOOOVE cancelled plans. Purrrr

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes indeed I’d like to shoutout Mazi. @directedbymazio An award winning director from Ny. I met him while living in Brooklyn while I was in college..He’s done music videos for Cardi B, Akon, French Montana.. The list goes on and on.. I always knew I wanted to do TV but I just didn’t know what exactly. I met him at his studio over 10 years ago.. He had his own show back then. I was in college for communications so my roommate at the time wanted me to meet him. We met & he asked me if I’ve ever done production before or had my own show. I told him no and then he told me to improv infront of the camera . I didn’t know wtf to say lol come to think of of it I sounded dumb as hell lol. But he walked me thru it, gave me advice etc. that was the start of when I knew what I wanted to do as a career. To this day I can still contact him. Also wanna shoutout Hitfactory Radio because the homie Mal (CEO of Hitfactory Radio) is who got me started in podcasting in 2014 before it was even a thing.. That’s when I started doing the interviews and my love for journalism began..Also shoutout to all the podcast platforms i had after that . All of that experience got me where I am today. And I will forever be appreciative
