We had the good fortune of connecting with Karmelina Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karmelina, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks comes with achieving personal success. Anything worth having comes with a price, and even though people have told me that my entire life, it has become painfully present these last couple of years. Whether the risk is financial, social, or personal, it takes a piece of you. Sometimes it’s not worth it, and sometimes it is. In the arts, the payoff for risks is not recognized until much later… it is a waiting game.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The difficult thing about screenwriting or anything in the arts, is that the obstacles are not clearly stated and that they are not the same for everybody. Obtaining funding and completing scripts for projects is one thing, but getting your content out there and aiming to build a legacy is something that you need to figure out through trial and error. I have learned that if you make fresh content that is good to look at and fun to listen to, people will identify with it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t know, I like to skate and go to concerts. So I guess, hit the Venice Skatepark then hit the Strip for some shows.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
