Meet Samuel Warburton | Singer & Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samuel Warburton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samuel, how do you think about risk?
Everything about being an artist, whether it’s in the music industry or film industry, is taking a risk. There are absolutely no guarantees. But we only have one life to live, so I say take all the risks you can.
Moving to Los Angeles, CA 10 years ago was the biggest risk I’ve taken. I was from a small town in Idaho and Utah. Since a young age, I was taught how to live my life, which career path to take, when to get married and when to have children. But the moment I chose to move to LA, I left everything I knew behind. I was starting fresh with absolutely no guidance, and I did not know a single person down in LA. 10 years later, that was the best risk and decision I ever made. The rest is history.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Music and film are what drive me. What sets me apart is that I am genuinely myself in my art. One thing I make sure is that I make the art that I want, and not what someone wants me to make. Musically I’ve recorded a few covers of songs I loved when I was a kid, and it brings so much joy and fulfillment that I have now recorded and released them. My younger self would be so happy to know what I’ve accomplished.
It has taken many years for me to get to where I’m at. I went to university where I studied business, music, dance, and acting. Then I went to an additional two year acting program at the Baron Brown Studios in Santa Monica, CA. After all my schooling, it took a few years to build up my network, started making small projects, and now I’m producing my own music and movies. My moto is to never give up and always find your why.
I recently released an original song and music video called “Life Changing”. I poured my heart and soul into this song and video. It’s about the most life changing love is to love ourselves. We live in a world with so much judgment, yet the only approval we need is within ourself. Once we love ourself, the right people will enter our lives. And all that love is eternal. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love Los Angeles! If someone was to come visit me, I would make sure I had plenty of dinner reservations set up. LA is known for beautiful restaurants. My go to’s are: Ysabel, Laurel Hardware, The Henry, SUGARFISH, Nobu, Weho Bistro, Arden Restaurant, and Cecconi’s. If it’s a Friday night, we would definitely hit up the clubs in West Hollywood. Great music and dancing! Of course fan favorites are The Abbey and The Chapel.
I would also get them a guest pass to Equinox West Hollywood, where I spend too much time. Runyon Canyon is a must hiking spot for anyone who wants a good hike with great views. You’ll also see many familiar and beautiful faces there.
The Grove is always a must shopping trip, especially during the Holidays. The Grove decorates beautifully and sets up a huge Christmas tree.
So overall, Los Angeles is a great stop for food, shopping, dancing, and music!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my shoutout to my family and friends. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I’m at in my life. They have supported me through thick and thin. They have been the ones who have encouraged me to keep going, especially when I’ve been on the brink of giving up. They’ve been the voice to say “Just give it one more try”. So to them, I say “THANK YOU!”
