We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Aslanian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Growing up in our family-owned business, my brothers and I were immersed in it from an early age. Our father often took us along to job installations, and we spent countless hours in the showroom, absorbing every detail of the trade.

What started as a single location focused primarily on fireplaces has since grown into something much larger. Today, we proudly operate four locations, offering a wide range of products—from top-name kitchen appliances to outdoor barbecues and heating solutions. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re honored to carry on our family’s legacy.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our business is a family-owned venture with a rich history spanning over 45 years. Established in 1978 by my father and grandfather, we began with a single location specializing in fireplaces. Today, we’ve grown to four locations, a 30,000 sq ft warehouse, and an expanded product line that includes luxury kitchen appliances, outdoor barbecues, and heating solutions.

What sets us apart is our dedication to providing exceptional customer service and offering premium products that transform living spaces into something truly special. We’re not just selling appliances or fireplaces—we’re helping families create the heart of their homes, whether it’s a cozy fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, or an inviting outdoor space.

Getting here wasn’t easy. Like any business, we’ve faced our share of challenges, from navigating economic downturns to learning how to adapt in a rapidly changing market. One of the key lessons we’ve learned is the importance of staying true to our core values while being open to innovation. For example, we’ve embraced new trends and expanded our offerings to meet evolving customer needs. We constantly remodel our showrooms to show customer the newest and greatest products

I’m most proud of the legacy we’ve built and the fact that it’s still a family-run business. My brothers and I were raised in this industry, and now, as the third generation running it, we’re passionate about carrying it forward.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Malibu for a relaxing day, starting with a delicious lunch at Moonshadows overlooking the ocean. I also love visiting The Grove, especially during the holidays when it’s beautifully decorated. We could then take a stroll down Rodeo Drive . To end the day, we’d enjoy an nice dinner at Il Segreto. Next day if there is Lakers or Rams game we would like to check that out

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my father and grandfather. They laid the foundation for our family business back in 1978 with hard work, vision, and a commitment to quality. Their example has been our guiding light as we’ve grown and evolved the business.

I’d also like to recognize my brothers, who have been my partners through this journey. Together, we’ve learned to navigate challenges, celebrate successes, and stay true to the family values that built this business.
