We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Federoff and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Love is nothing without action. Trust is nothing without proof. And sorry is nothing without change. I do not know who came up with this however, it’s absolutely SPOT ON! Having been in the business of love and relationships, this is what every person needs to know and follow. This applies to any relationship and without these you’re doomed to fail.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am co-founder/CEO of a luxury matchmaking business called Loveandmatchmaking.com. Myself and partner Destin Pfaff and I started this in 2013 after being in the matchmaking business and co-stars on a hit reality TV show for over a decade. I knew that it was time to dedicate and take my own ideas and policies for finding people love and coaching them through it. Loveandmatchmaking.com isn’t like most matchmaking companies. We are not out to just throw dates at people hoping magic will strike. It is a focus of finding the ONE not the ones. It’s vetting, researching, coaching and taking the time to hand select potential matches. Looking for love is a big journey and process and so many feel it needs to be rushed. A diamond naturally takes 1-3.3 BILLION years to create! You can’t rush something so special. I have a personal motto when it comes to finding love – you must first learn to truly love and heal yourself before loving another. I use this when working with my clients. Creating my business has been a long journey in itself and so worth it to bring love to others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in SoCal what isn’t there to do?! First I would hit the beaches as when you thing of Cali – you think of the ocean specifically Laguna Beach, San Clemente or Zuma in Malibu. Disneyland and California Adventure would be a must! I am a huge foodie so we would hit my favorite sushi spots Sushi Yuzu in Toluca Lake and Hanasaki in Santa Clarita. Of course Mexican food is fantastic as well and Don Coco’s in Toluca Lake or El Compadre in Hollywood on Sunset are my faves! Speaking of Sunset, we’d hit the Sunset Strip and find some great live bands or hit where I’m originally from Orange County and go karaoke singing at a little known Irish pub called Durty Nelly’s. Finally we would hit all the fantastic museums like The Getty and Descanso Gardens. or see a concert under the stars at The Greek or Hollywood Bowl.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have been on a spiritual and healing journey for over 4 years now. I owe my growth and gratitude from my gurus and therapists (yes I am a believer in mental health!) For confidentiality reasons I cannot disclose their personal information. I have been following the teachings of professionals such as Dr Durvasula Ramani and Brene Brown whose literature and knowledge is invaluable. I thank them all with utmost gratitude. There are a select handful of friends and of course my big sister Kimberly who’s support and love has been a light in the darkness. Lastly, my 2 beautiful boys. They are my inspiration to be the best version of me every single day.
