Meet Magic Singh | Magician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Magic Singh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Magic, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I look back, there was never a structured business plan when I first embarked on this journey. At 11 years old, my focus was purely on learning the art of magic, it was a passion, not a career plan. But within a year of practicing my craft and being mesmerized by the brilliance of magicians like David Blaine, Derren Brown, and Paul Zenon, something shifted. I realised I didn’t just want to perform magic; I wanted to be a superstar magician, recognized worldwide. My ambition was to master my craft, and I trusted that everything else, opportunities, audiences, and a career would naturally follow.
In those early days, magic became my world. It wasn’t about business; it was about creating moments that left people spellbound, whether up close, on stage, or even through their television screens.
While studying film and television production at university, magic started opening doors for me. Word of mouth led to occasional bookings across London and the UK—performances at parties, weddings, council art fairs, and beyond. These events were small steps but incredibly meaningful ones. Then, toward the end of my degree, everything clicked.
For my final project, I created my own street magic show. It wasn’t just an assignment it was a turning point. That show became my calling card, a showreel that I could share with potential clients. Armed with my Bachelor of Arts degree and a unique product in my hand, I was ready to leap into the world as “Magic Singh.”
The brand name itself became my USP distinct, memorable, and personal. It resonated with bookers and agents, and soon, my name was circulating in circles I could have only dreamed of. By the time I graduated, I knew with absolute clarity that this was my path.
Choosing to pursue magic full-time felt like following my gut instinct. I didn’t have a grand plan; I just had unwavering belief that this was what I was meant to do. And once I made that decision, I never looked back.
This journey has been about trusting myself, pushing boundaries, and giving everything I have to create unforgettable moments for people. Magic is my art, my passion, and my purpose—and I’ll continue to do my utmost to make it shine on stages, in intimate settings, and everywhere in between.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart, I think, is the fusion of my cultural heritage with a modern and universal approach to magic. As a British-Indian magician, I bring the richness of my roots and blend it with a contemporary, global appeal. My performances are as much about celebrating identity and diversity as they are about astonishing the audience. I’m proud of how my art resonates with people from all walks of life, from intimate shows to packed theatres and even through the screens of millions on social media.
If I were to pinpoint what I’m most proud of, it’s the fact that I’ve built a career that allows me to inspire others while staying true to myself. Whether it’s walking on stage and demonstrating the reading minds of the whole audience or seeing someone’s face light up when I perform a simple card trick, every moment feels like a reminder of why I do what I do.
But let me tell you, the journey here wasn’t easy. Early on, there were challenges—plenty of them. Growing up, I didn’t have any Sikh magician role models, especially not someone who wore a turban. In fact, stepping into the mainstream magic industry while proudly wearing my turban felt daunting at times. There was, and still is, a lot of perception tied to brown skin and turbans—often misunderstood or underestimated. I lost count of how many people told me I’d never be successful because of it. They’d say, ‘Magic isn’t for someone like you,’ or that the turban would hold me back.
But you know what? That just fueled me. I’ve come to see my turban as my crown—a symbol of pride, identity, and strength. It’s not a hindrance; it’s my superpower. It sets me apart, makes me memorable, and tells a story of resilience and heritage before I even say a word. It’s a reminder of where I come from and the values I carry with me. The very thing that people once told me would limit my success has become the reason I’ve stood out and thrived in this industry.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about me and my brand, it’s this: Magic Singh is more than a name. It’s a story of passion, perseverance, and the belief that magic—whether it’s through a trick, a moment of connection, or a shared laugh—has the power to transform lives.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting LA, I’d make sure they had an unforgettable time, it’s a city that never fails to amaze me! I’ve only been to LA six times, but trust me, each trip has been packed with rich experiences, incredible food, and magical moments. Here’s how I’d plan the ultimate week-long itinerary for them:
First off, breakfast is essential, and there’s no better place to start than BBCM—Butcher, Baker, Cappuccino Maker. It’s hands down the best spot for breakfast, with dishes that are as Instagram-worthy as they are delicious! After fueling up, we’d head to Venice Beach and rent bikes for a breezy ride along the iconic boardwalk, soaking up the sun and taking in the quirky vibe of Santa Monica.
For lunch, I’d take them to my absolute favorite spot in Sawtelle—Killer Noodle. It’s a hidden gem in Tokyo Town, and I’m obsessed. There are only three dishes on the menu (plus an alternative version for each), but every single bite is unforgettable. Trust me, once you’ve been, you’ll thank me forever.
No visit to LA is complete without a touch of Hollywood, so we’d stroll down Hollywood Boulevard to check out the Walk of Fame and soak in the glitz. For a chill evening, I’d book us a table at the rooftop of Holloway House in West Hollywood. Their Mexican food is out of this world, and the vibe is just perfect. Oh, and if it’s Sunday, we’d head straight to the Malibu Beach House for their brunch buffet—it’s legendary! And the half-baked cookie dough they serve? To die for.
The next day, we’d explore my fascination with space at the Griffith Observatory. It’s such an incredible spot, with breathtaking views of LA and a ton of fascinating activities. I’d also make sure we hiked up Runyon Canyon—a killer workout with epic views and, of course, a great photo op with the Hollywood sign in the background.
In the evenings, we’d unwind at the Sky Bar at the Mondrian Hotel. The cool vibe, amazing drinks, and incredible city views make it one of my favorite places to catch up with friends. And if we’re in the mood for a more private experience, Soho House never disappoints. Their Malibu Beach House for brunch and rooftop vibes at Holloway House? Pure magic.
By the end of the week, they’d not only have explored LA’s iconic spots but also indulged in its hidden treasures. It’s a city that’s become close to my heart, and sharing these experiences with someone makes it all the more special. Just talking about this is making me hungry and excited to plan my next trip back!
