We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandra Conde and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alejandra, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One of the main objectives of our brand (Xti’ Artisan) is to be able to promote handmade garments and home-deco made in Oaxaca, Mexico, as well as in other regions. Each piece has a personal story and a part of the life of the artisan who makes it with love and care. Therefore, we consider ourselves a bridge between Mexican artisan families and people from Southern California who are not only looking for a special ware, but also to connect with their roots and culture.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
dOur small entrepreneur path has been full of many achievements but also challenge. The feedback and suggestions we hear from our clients for artisanal pieces is what drives us to go in search of more. Without a doubt,, one of the most difficult challenges was the COVID-19 pandemic, but thanks to our customers, we have been able to be resilient and reinvent ourselves,

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Al sur del centro, LA Convention Center, los museos de Historia Natural y Science Center. Y finalmente en lado west, en Miracle Mile está el museo de arte contemporaneo, La Brea Tar Pits y más.

In city of Los Angeles, there is a variety of activities to enjoy with family or friends, whether in parks, ethnic neighborhoods, historical and entertainment places, etc. Our favorite route is to start from Plaza Olvera Street for being the core of this cosmopolitan city. The Plaza y Cultura Artes museum, in front of Pico House, holds art exhibitions and outdoor events with
live music and folklore groups every weekend.

On the east side of DTLA is Boyle Heights neighborhood, renowned for Plaza del Mariachi, Mexican food restaurants, as well as shops promoting Latin American art and culture.

Less than a mile away, across 1st Street bridge, there is another historic neighborhood, Little Tokyo, known for Japanese restaurants and manga art clothing and accessories stores.

DTLA is an amazing place full of restaurants, cafes and theaters to enjoy plays or an outdoor concert like in Grand Park, in front of City Hall.

We also enjoy to walk through the South Korean neighborhood, known for its famous barbecues and cafes, and very close by it is the Oaxacan (Mexican) corridor, recently opened for the wide variety of Oaxacan migrant businesses.

South of DTLA, one cannot pass by without visiting LA Convention Center, the Natural History Museum and the Science Center. And finally on the west side, on Miracle Mile, the museum of Contemporary Art, La Brea Tar Pits and Urban Light with vintage street lamps.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our project/brand would not be possible without the unconditional support, love and motivation of each of our beloved customers. Thanks to their interest in learning more about artisan garments, it inspires us to grow and innovate products. As result, we have been able to integrate more families to work with. Therefore, we highlight the amazing support of our customers who inspires us to grow in our project.
