Meet Ana Mathias | Guitar player

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ana Mathias and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ana, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I get inspired when I see people being true with their art. I love watching others being creative and expressing what they feel through music. Listening to music, visiting new places and having deep conversations with people that I care are all things that give me a lot of inspiration. From that, I urge to channel everything into my own music, creating more meaningful pieces that really reflect those experiences in hope that it may also inspire others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe that being true to yourself and to the people around you, is the key to create a deep connecting with the process of what you are working on. When I first moved to LA, I had to face the challenge of being away from my family, understanding a new culture and a new language. It was not easy, but in the end it’s all about music and the people you meet on the way, and that makes the process worth it. LA is a really competitive and unique city, full of challenges and opportunities. It really pushes you and everyone else to do their best, which is one of the reasons it is such a special place to me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LA has so many beautiful places that I love that it would be hard to do everything in one week.
I would make sure to go see the sunset in Malibu after going on a hike. LA has also a big variety of foods so you will for sure find something exciting to try. Next to The Grove which is a really fun place to visit, there’s the Farmers Market. I love that place for having everything. Whenever I’m feeling homesick for Brazilian food, I go to the Farmers Market so I can have some Brazilian BBQ.
I’ve been to some museus in LA and I really liked them so that’s another place that I would since in Los Angeles the Art cenatium is big, there’s always a show going on and that’s my favorite thing to do here.
You can literally find everything to do in Los Angeles, so is guarantee that everyone will have a good time

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My uncle is someone that had a huge impact in my career choice. I will always be grateful to him when it comes to the reason why I believed music was the right path for me. I want to thank him for always inspiring me, motivating me and introducing me to the music world.
