We had the good fortune of connecting with Andy Freakin Ford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andy Freakin, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I don’t really look at Razor Radio as a career. I look at as my fun time because the hard work was with the 22 years I spent in the US Navy.. in fact my VA benefits are what let become an intern at KNAC at 41 years old.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I’ve been a radio DJ that has been on the air in Los Angeles for 14 years between KNAC.com Dash Radio and KXRZ FM 89.1 Razor Radio

I’ve also booked live music events inder the Razor banner at various venues around the Southland.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We have a night out at the Rainbow Bar and Grill to pay respect to the Gods Rock N Roll. The off to a show.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well as radio skills i learned a litttle from every DJ I worked with. There’s a mentor that only helped me with radio but the entire entertainment industry and that is Ondrea Swann former owner of the Starving Musicians Program in Hollywood, The Jiont nightclub, and the OG owner of Razor. Absolutely amazing woman! I learned tons from and when she got out of the entertainment business she gave the Razor. And it’s still going strong!
