Meet Cleo Murnane | CCO and Co-Founder Studio Murnane

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cleo Murnane and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cleo, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Always the beautiful answer who asks a more beautiful question.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our firm is very holistic we have designers from many disciplines, graphic designers, strategists, copywriters, and architects. We see the world as vibrant, layered, and tactile. We often use this quote: “When you practice in all fields of design, each field benefits from your experience in the others.” This means a graphic designer might explore tile patterns for a restaurant, or an architect might weigh in on the shape of a perfume bottle.
We got here by continually investing in the most exciting projects. This has kept us creative and nimble. Unlike many other small firms that build teams with freelancers these days, we’re pretty traditional.
Lessons and challenges are part of growth, and we do this daily. There are so many lessons! We are committed to learning ever-new ways of seeing the world. We are a service business, and we continually servicing and meeting the needs of our clients and their vision.
I wish the world knew how dedicated and exceptionally talented my team is. We do phenomenal work and hold ourselves to the highest standards. Only a few get to experience this. Fifteen years later, we’re still a well-kept secret.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the Griffith Park Trails; we hike almost every weekend. The Boy Scout Trail (formerly known as the East Griffith Observatory Trail) is an easy route from the Greek Theater to the Observatory.
Descanso Gardens, turtles at Franklin Canyon and The Huntington Children’s Garden are treasures. The swingset on Muscle Beach and lunch at Gjusta afterward is a perfect day out. Little Toyko is wonderful to explore, and Fujitsu-do Mochi and the Kinokuniya bookstore are highlights.
We love a weekend in Laguna or Montecito. I was at Lotusland a few months back; Godmother’s Books is a local favorite.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes.
