We had the good fortune of connecting with Anzhelika Kotyash and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anzhelika, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
Pick a path and stick to it is a piece of conventional advice I disagree with. Throughout my life journey I have taken many paths lead by my passions that allow me to combine multiple areas of understanding to everything I do.
I come from a long liniege of artists and creativity tends to run in my family. Everything from writers, singers and painters. I started my company VHLuxe during the pandemic after taking a break from my coprorate carreer and becoming a licensed nail tech. Salons where closed, but I wanted to do something that inspired me as well as others during such a dark time in everyones life. My first few handmade sales made my customers elated and I began to expand further. I worked with photographers and models to help spread the word and slowly shifted to manufactured nails for those who wanted affordability and something neutral. The heart of VHLuxe however started in handpainted designes and when I am finished with nursing school in 2026 I plan to get back into handpainted art, design and something new *though you will have to wait and see. Additionally, while I am in nursing school I work in a large healthcare company as a leader, in this role I use my creativity to forsee barriers and establish better processess in operations for our teams and patients. Without following my passions and picking only one path I would not have been able to contribute to the individuals around me, the teams I work with, and the many people I have encountered throuhgout my life journey.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It is difficult to pinpoint the type of carreer I am in professionally as I live my life following my passions. Is it easy living this way, absolutely not however I wouldn’t trade it for an easier life. Currently I am a leader in a large corporate medical healthcare company here in California, I am a full time nursing student on track to graduate in 2026, and an artist/small business owner of VHLuxe. Also does mom of a 7 year old boy count? The lessons I have learned along the way is do not give up, no matter what life throws at you just keep going. One. Day. At. A. Time. Somedays, you may just have to take it one hour at a time. However hard, no matter what life throws at you just keep going and it will all pay off. I want the world to know that I came from a very difficult childhood and upbringing filled with sadness, poverty, neglect and a boat load of everything else. Firstly, no matter where you start – if you keep going – you will get where you need to be. Secondly, you may encounter many that will help or lead you to stumble find out which is which quickly and choose wisely!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have found a new love in Lake Tahoe, if you are looking for peace, adventure, excitement in the winter or summer you must go to Lake Tahoe. We recently stayed at the villiage in Heavanly and just as the name describes it is Heavanly! Snowboarding in the winter and paddleboarding in the summer. Even if you do not paddleboard, just get one, pump it up and sit on the water in the summer to soak up the views of a crystal clear lake surrounded by beautful beaches and treas on the horizon. There is nothing more peacful to the soul than that!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many have contributed to the success that I have had a few large contributors where the many photographers, UGC creators and models that I have been able to interact with throughout this journey. My first photographer that I worked with was Fair Soul Film, a young up and coming photographer with a French style that is just mesmerizingly satifying to watch. Another amazing photographer is Rachel Bruno Photography. She is multitalented without a doubt, a photographer, designer, make up artist, and producer all in one. Secondly, Hannah Phung – a UGC creater and an absolute doll. She is the friend everyone needs and the energy that each creative business should have behind them. Lastly all of my customers and models that have purchased or used my nails in their photo shoots without you most of this would have been impossible.
