Meet Marvene Machaalany | Owner & Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marvene Machaalany and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marvene, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was actually an accident. I’ve always loved entertaining and bringing people together. After the pandemic and 15 years in retail, I found myself searching for what was next… as I was over retail. That’s when my friends (you know who your are) encouraged me to start selling my charcuterie creations. What started in my kitchen for parties and gatherings quickly became something bigger, rooted in creativity, passion, and the desire to bring people together through beautifully curated experiences.
Food has always been more than just sustenance to me, it’s an art form, a way to connect, and a form of storytelling, even just casual dinner at my house. I wanted to create something that went beyond just a meal or a catering service. I envisioned immersive, show-stopping grazing tables that steal the show and charcuterie experiences that turn gatherings into unforgettable, marvelous moments no pun intended.
I also saw a gap in the market—a true one-stop shop for high-end, intimate gatherings. As we emerged from the pandemic, entertaining at home became the go-to way to celebrate. There weren’t many companies that could do it all , small bites, florals, bartending, and grazing tables—while maintaining a refined, luxury touch. Plus, I wanted to make the process seamless, so clients wouldn’t have to go through ten different vendors just to create a cohesive look. I wanted to change that.
For me, a grazing table isn’t just about abundance; it’s about elegance, intention, and style. Every detail is carefully thought out from the placement of cheeses to the florals, textures, colors, and overall theme—to ensure everything feels elevated and beautifully crafted. Each creations takes hours of sketching and figuring out what goes where.
Starting Marvelous Creations was about ownership—owning my creativity, my vision, and my ability to build something truly unique on my own terms. I wanted to break away from the traditional catering mold and redefine what luxury entertaining could look like. Seeing the joy and excitement on people’s faces when we unveil a grazing table….their jaws literally drop makes every challenge of entrepreneurship worth it. And of course, at Marvelous Creations, the camera always eats first!!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Marvelous Creations isn’t just about food, it’s about creating unforgettable experiences. We specialize in luxury grazing tables, charcuterie boards, and curated events that bring people together in the most beautiful (and delicious) way possible. What sets us apart? Every detail is intentional. From the placement of each cheese to the carefully chosen floral accents and color palettes, our grazing tables aren’t just abundant -they’re elegant, they’re art, they’re immersive, and they’re designed to be the centerpiece of any gathering. They’ll have your guests talking for months after all it’s edible art that tells its own story.
I’m incredibly proud of how far this business has come. What started as a small idea in my kitchen has grown into a brand that’s redefining luxury entertaining. We’re not just throwing food on a board , we’re crafting edible art and curating flavor experiences you’ve never seen (or tasted) before. And in the process, we’re cultivating a brand that you can trust every time. Seeing clients’ reactions when they walk into a room and see one of our setups? That’s the moment that makes every challenge worth it.
Was it easy? Absolutely not. Building a business from the ground up is no joke. There were moments of doubt, financial hurdles, and times when I genuinely wondered, “Can I really do this?” But I pushed through by staying true to my vision, trusting the process, and surrounding myself with people who believed in me. The biggest lesson I’ve learned? Authenticity wins. When you create something with passion, people connect with it let me tell you, that connection is priceless.
At the end of the day, Marvelous Creations is about more than just grazing tables—it’s about bringing people together, celebrating life’s moments, and making every event feel effortlessly special. When you’re planning an event, you want that one-stop shop that truly delivers. So if you’re looking for something beyond the ordinary, something show-stopping and jaw-dropping, you’ve come to the right place. And as always, at Marvelous Creations, the camera eats first!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man, I might be the worst tour guide ever…but I promise, we’re going to have the best time! First off, we’re definitely skipping Hollywood. I always wonder, why would anyone willingly do the Walk of Fame? It’s just so gross, don’t even get me started!
We’d kick off our day in the east of town at my favorite bagel spot, Courage Bagels. Yes, it takes some serious courage to wait in line, but trust me—the bagels are to die for. Next, we’d head over to DTLA to check out my absolute favorite place, the Original Flower Mart. Then, we’d wander through the vibrant murals and maybe even stop by The Broad for a little contemporary museum moment.
For lunch, we’d hit up Grand Central Market, where you can find everything under the sun. And of course, no trip would be complete without a double-double at In-N-Out-an absolute must. Later, we’d grab a drink at a rooftop bar like Perch LA or the InterContinental Hotel. Who doesn’t love sipping cocktails while watching the sunset?
One day would definitely be dedicated to the beach, If you know me I’m such a beach bum! We’d soak up the rays at my favorite spot-west street beach in Laguna Beach, take a bike ride to explore the city, and just enjoy the sun. Then, we’d cap off that day with a sunset dinner at Cliffs, it’s absolutely the best, that sunset is just WOW.
The next day, we’d head over to the west side for a hike at my favorite trail, Runyon Canyon. You never know which celeb you might run into there! After the hike, we’d indulge in a brunch at Urth Café for some prime people-watching, followed by a leisurely stroll down Melrose Avenue for some shopping adventures. Then, a stroll through Beverly Hills for some window shopping and a delicious meal at my favorite spot, The Ivy, would be in order.
Later on, we’d hit the town in West Hollywood—you never really know where the night will take you there! We might even end up at an underground party—those are the best nights, with the sound bass up and a vibe that proves bars are so overrated. The following day would be all about chill vibes, relaxing poolside on the rooftop of the Andaz. And on the last day? We’d have to try the famous In-N-Out experience one more time.
That’s my LA itinerary, just a mix of quirky, classic, and downright unforgettable moments. When you’re the life of party …who know we might even follow this itinerary-LOL

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh gosh, wow…there are so many people to thank. Where do I even begin? First, a huge shoutout to all my past bosses and district managers who became my mentors and truly shaped who I am today. From starting as a sales associate to opening multiple stores brands across the U.S., their voices still live rent-free in my head every time I run into a challenge.
But the biggest shoutout goes to my best friend, Jordan Jones. From day one, he believed in me and pushed me to start this ‘little’ business, though it’s not so little anymore! I had all the self-doubt in the world. The idea of building something from the ground up felt overwhelming, and honestly, I didn’t think I could do it. But Jordan? He had other plans. One day, he took matters into his own hands, created an Instagram account for me, and basically said, “start posting. now” Then he told me to figure out packaging, and I was like, ‘Uh, brb…’ That was the moment I realized..oh wow, this is for real now.
With his help, tech-savvy brain, and the unwavering support of friends and family, everything started falling into place like a domino effect So, Jordan, from the bottom of my heart—thank you for believing in me, giving me that push, and making sure I actually got it done. I couldn’t have done this without you!
